Firefighter rescue system
11577103 · 2023-02-14 ·

A firefighter rescue system includes a pair of clasp members connected to opposing ends of a longitudinally extended and flexible harness. The system further includes a pair of handles respectively secured to the harness in longitudinally spaced relationship. The flexible harness includes first and second strap members. The first strap member is coupled to one of the pair of clasp members on one end thereof, and affixed on an opposing end to a length adjusting mechanism. The second strap member has a first end thereof coupled to the other of the pair of clasp members and an opposing second end threaded through length adjusting mechanism. By that arrangement, a distance between the first end of the second strap member and the length adjusting mechanism is adjustably settable.

A carabiner for carrying equipment is disclosed. The carabiner includes a hook assembly including a generally C-shaped body having an opening which is closed by an openable gate. It further includes a mounting assembly, which includes a mounting boss to which the body is releasably connected, and one or more fasteners to connect the mounting boss to a base component. The mounting boss may include a bore through which the body passes, the body being a close fit in the bore, such that the body can pivot respect to the boss about an axis of the bore. Control components may be provided that serve to resist movement of the body within the bore. The carabiner may be installed in a harness, by connecting the base to a component of the harness for example by passing a fastener through a hole in the component.

RACKING CARABINER
20230235775 · 2023-07-27 ·

A racking carabiner includes a carabiner body with pivot end and nose end portions defining an opening. A gate pivotally connects to the body at the pivot end portion, and pivotable between closed and open positions. A gate retainer can adopt an inoperative condition, in which it presents no restriction to gate movement and an operative position in which it inhibits movement of the gate from a retained-open position towards the closed position. The retainer secures the gate in an open position for as long as it is convenient for the user. The gate clip can be returned to the inoperative condition, whereupon the carabiner gate can be opened and will spring closed as it would in a conventional racking carabiner.

CARABINER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING

The carabiner comprises a C-shaped body (1) and a gate (2) fitted movable between an open position and a closed position. The gate (2) is fitted rotatable with respect to the body (1). The gate (2) defines a cavity (2a) receiving a spring (4). A pusher (5) presses on the body (1). The spring (4) installed in the cavity (2a) of the gate (2) presses on the gate (2) and on the pusher (5) to bias the gate (2) to the closed position. The spring (4) is a coil spring extending along the longitudinal axis of the cavity (2a). The spring (4) and pusher (5) are fixedly mounted on one another to form a monolithic assembly.

Footman loop clip

A footman loop clip includes a body and a bend formed in the body such that an end of the body is inboard of the bend, the body having an aperture. A pin passes through the aperture and has a pin head on one end, and a pull feature on the other end. A spring biases the pull feature toward the body. The pull feature is biased toward the body and when the pull feature is pulled a gap is formed and increased between the pin head and the end of the body.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A LOCKING CARABINER
20230235776 · 2023-07-27 ·

A locking carabiner system and methods comprising a frame, gates and a gate biasing apparatus that includes a wire formed gate pivotably attached to the carabiner frame which can be rotated between two positions with movement from either position to the other position opposed by a biasing force, such force undergoing a change in the direction of bias as the gate is pivoted from one position to the other position resulting in two separate and distinct stable gate positions. Among other uses, such a gate can form a locking mechanism when in a first position it obstructs other gates from operating until it is rotated to the second position. The inventive locking mechanism can be incorporated into carabiners and other attachment devices to prevent the accidental opening of gates and to ensure that attached ropes, keys and other articles remain secured.

A carabiner includes a retaining frame, wherein each of two opposite sides of the retaining frame has a pivotally connecting portion and an inserting tube, respectively. The inserting tube has an inserted hole inside and is fitted around by a socket portion of a hook-shaped tube of the hook member. A wire rope passes through the hook-shaped tube. A bottom end of the wire rope is inserted into the inserted hole. A nose is engaged with a free end of the hook-shaped tube and a free end of the wire rope. A portion, where the socket portion, the inserting tube, and the wire rope are overlapped, is compressed to fix. The pivotally connecting portion is pivotally connected to a gate member. A top end of the gate member is detachably hooked to the nose. With such design, the weight of the carabiner could be reduced without worsening the safety.

FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT HAVING INDUCTIVE SENSOR FOR CONNECTION STATUS AND CONTROL

Techniques are described for monitoring and controlling fall protection equipment. For example, the techniques of this disclosure may be used to monitor the connection status of fall protection equipment, e.g., whether or not the fall protection equipment is connected to a support structure. The techniques described in the disclosure may determine whether the fall protection equipment is connected to a support structure based on changes in a resonant frequency of an electronic circuit of an inductive sensor within the fall protection equipment. The inductive sensor may be formed from sets of one or more coils, where a first set of one or more coils and a second set of one or more coils are wound in opposite directions.
