Ball joint and stabilizer link using same
A ball joint comprises: a ball stud which includes a stud part on one end side connected to a structure and a ball part on the other end side; a housing which oscillatably and rotatably supports the ball part of the ball stud; and a ball sheet disposed between the housing and the ball part. The ball sheet includes a recessed/protruding part formed of at least one of a recessed portion and a protruding portion on a surface facing the housing. The housing includes a fitting part having at least one of a protruding shape and a recessed shape each of which fits to the recessed/protruding part.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES, AND METHODS OF ARTICULATION OF A VARIABLE POSITION BALL JOINT
Systems, apparatuses, and methods of a variable position ball joint with dynamic length are disclosed and include a ball, and a seat with a guide surface; an arc of the ball defines endpoints of an arc path for revolving the ball in the guide surface; a center point of the ball is concentric with a center of rotation of the seat so that the center point of the ball and the seat move in a single axis of movement; and an interface that guides the ball along the guide surface, wherein the guide surface is parallel to the single axis of movement to cause the ball to traverse the seat travel arc while maintaining a center of rotation concentric with the seat resulting in a change in length of an attached component with respect to a concentric center point of rotation during an articulation action of the ball joint.
BALL JOINT FOR A CHASSIS OF A VEHCILE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH A BALL JOINT
A ball joint (1, 37) for a chassis of a vehicle has an inner joint portion (4) and a one-piece slide bearing (10) made of plastic, A joint ball (35) of the inner joint portion (4) is fitted so that it can swivel in a ball-bearing section (16). The slide bearing (10) has a holding section (12, 38) for the arrangement of a sensor element (13, 39). In order to simplify the structure and/or assembly of the ball joint (1, 37), the outside of the slide bearing (10) has a circular-ring-shaped contact surface (20) which is formed coaxially relative to a central longitudinal axis (19) of the slide bearing (10) and which co-operates with a separate closure ring (9) surrounding the outside of the slide bearing (10) to fix the slide bearing (10) in a joint housing (3).
Socket assembly and method of making a socket assembly
The assembly includes a housing that has an inner bore and a ball stud that has a ball portion with opposing first and second hemispheres. A bearing assembly is disposed in the inner bore of the housing and presents a curved first bearing surface that is in slidable contact with only the first hemisphere of the ball portion. The ball socket assembly also includes a curved second bearing surface that is presented on a different component from the bearing assembly and is in slidable contact with the second hemisphere of the ball portion. The bearing assembly has a plastic portion and a plurality of metal segments. The metal segments collectively define the first bearing surface and are fixedly attached with the plastic portion. The plastic portion allows the metal segments to individually move relative to one another to seat against the ball portion of the ball stud.
MOUNT FOR A HANDHELD ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A mount for mounting a case of a handheld electronic device to a vehicle includes an arm comprising a pair of arm members, first and second coupling member engaged with the arm for adjustably coupling the device to the vehicle, a spring and a fastener for adjustably securing the two arms together. The fastener is rotatable between a first position in which the arm members are rigidly secured together and the first and second coupling members are rigidly secured to the arm and a second position for adjusting the first coupling member and the second coupling member relative to the arm. The spring biases the arm members towards each other when the fastener is in the second position.
Ball joint, stabilizer link using ball joint, and stabilizer assembly
The ball joint includes a metal ball stud which includes a ball section and a resin housing which rotatably supports the ball section of the ball stud. A limiting member configured to limit molding shrinkage of the housing is embedded in the housing at an interval with respect to an equatorial section of the ball section such that the limiting member is positioned to surround at least the equatorial section of the ball section.
JOINING ARRANGEMENT HAVING A RECEIVING MEANS AND A BALL JOINT
A joining arrangement having a receiver and a ball joint, wherein the ball joint comprises a joint pin with a joint ball and comprises a joint socket for receiving the joint ball, and wherein the ball joint is spread open resiliently into the receiver. According to the invention, the receiver has a guide element with a guide region which extends in a guide direction, wherein the joint socket is, by means of at least two locking arms, spread open resiliently into the guide element in a preselectable setpoint position within the guide region.
JOINING ARRANGEMENT HAVING A RECEIVER AND A BALL JOINT
The present invention relates to a joining arrangement having a receiver with a receiving opening and having a ball joint which is spread open into the receiver, wherein the ball joint comprises a joint pin with a joint ball and a joint socket for receiving the joint ball, wherein the joint socket has at least two wings with in each case one internally situated joint surface, wherein the joint surfaces are in contact with the joint ball and enclose the joint ball in sections. According to the invention, the wings have in each case one reboundable resilience section by means of which the respective joint surface presses with a defined force onto the joint ball.
BALL-JOINT HOUSING SUPPORT, CORRESPONDING CONNECTING ROD AND CORRESPONDING JOINING METHOD
The invention relates to a support of a ball-joint housing for a connecting rod of a windshield wiper actuating linkage system, the support having a ball-joint housing that extends along a longitudinal axis (B) and is configured to be received in a complementary orifice in the connecting rod. According to the invention, the support is configured to be rotationally joined to the connecting rod. The invention also relates to a connecting rod configured to be rotationally joined to such a support, and to the corresponding joining method.
FIBER REINFORCED BEARING FOR A BALL SOCKET ASSEMBLY, BALL SOCKET ASSEMBLY THEREWITH AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
A ball socket assembly, bearing therefor, and method of construction thereof are provided. The ball socket assembly includes a housing with an inner bore extending between a closed first end region and an open second end region. A fiber-reinforced bearing is disposed in the inner bore. The bearing has a lower portion presenting a lower bearing surface having a first radius of curvature and an upper portion presenting an upper bearing surface having a second radius of curvature that is greater than the first radius of curvature. The lower bearing surface and the upper bearing surface surround a ball cavity in which a spherical ball portion of a ball stud is disposed. The housing second end region is plastically deformed radially inwardly to impart a bias on the bearing upper portion to fix the bearing and the ball portion in the housing. The bias causes the second radius of curvature to be biased substantially equal to the first radius of curvature.
