JOURNAL BEARING AND ROTARY MACHINE
Provided are a journal bearing and a rotary machine, including: a housing that has an annular shape and is disposed around a rotating shaft; a plurality of bearing pads that are disposed between the housing and the rotating shaft to be spaced from each other at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction of the housing; and a support that supports at least one end of each bearing pad in the axial direction of the rotating shaft to allow the each bearing pad to swing in the housing about an axis serving as a fulcrum in parallel to the axial direction.
Fluid film bearing and wind turbine
Provided is a fluid film bearing, for a rotor hub in a wind turbine, including a first and second part rotatably connected to each other, wherein the first part forms a first annular sliding surface that extends in the circumferential direction of the bearing along the first part, wherein the second part includes a support structure and first pads distributed along the circumference of the support structure, wherein a respective pad sliding surface of each of the first pads or of a first subgroup of the first pads supports the first annular sliding surface, wherein each first pad includes a mounting section that is mounted to a backside of the support structure, a contact section that is either forming the respective pad sliding surface or carrying a coating that forms the respective pad sliding surface and a connecting section that connects the contact section with the mounting section.
Flex pad bearing pad configuration
A hydrodynamic bearing in the form of a flex pad bearing includes configurations structured to change a bearing characteristic. One form of the bearing includes a nonlinear back wall that includes a circular arc and a transition, where the back wall extends radially outward of a ligament. The bearing can include an opening for the deposit of a weighted mass, wherein the opening can threadingly receive a threaded weighted mass. In one form a sidewall that includes the back wall segment can have an average outer radius which determines a thickness of the flex pads.
Thrust bearing pad having metallic substrate
A thrust bearing pad includes a relatively low wear and low friction contact layer disposed on a metallic substrate. The metallic substrate allows a manufacturer to couple the thrust bearing pad to a corresponding metallic thrust bearing in a relatively secure manner while the contact layer extends the operating life of the thrust bearing and minimizes maintenance.
Foil Segment Bearing, Method for Setting a Gap Geometry of a Foil Segment Bearing and Corresponding Production Method
A foil segment bearing comprises a bearing backing with a through opening. A shaft is arranged in the through opening such that a gap exists between the shaft and the bearing backing. The foil segment bearing also has at least one first bearing segment and one second bearing segment with respective inner surfaces. Each of the respective inner surfaces defines a bearing surface with an adjustable circumference. The bearing segments are arranged in the bearing backing at a distance from the shaft such that a gap exists between the shaft and the bearing segments. The foil segment bearing also has a foil arrangement arranged in the gap between the inner surfaces of the bearing segments and the shaft. The foil segment bearing also has an adjustment mechanism configured to set a geometry of the gap.
FLUID FILM BEARING, ESPECIALLY FOR A ROTOR HUB IN A WIND TURBINE
A fluid film bearing, includes a first and second part, wherein the first part includes at least two annular sliding surfaces, wherein the second part includes a respective group of pads for each of the annular sliding surfaces, wherein a respective pad sliding surface of each pad in a respective group supports the respective annular sliding surface, wherein the pads of each group are distributed in the circumferential direction along the second part, wherein at least one pad of a selected one of the groups is arranged such that spacing of the pads in the selected group along the circumference is irregular and/or wherein the selected or a selected one of the groups includes two different types of pads and/or wherein the pads of the or a selected one of the groups are offset in the circumferential direction with respect to the pads of a further one of the groups.
Plain bearing arrangement
A sliding bearing includes:—an inner ring element;—an outer ring element;—at least one sliding bearing element, which is arranged between the inner ring element and the outer ring element. The sliding bearing element has multiple sliding bearing pads, wherein the individual sliding bearing pads each have a radial bearing surface and a fastening profile located opposite the radial bearing surface. The inner ring element has at least one receiving profile on its radial outside, which receiving profile serves for the positive locking connection between the sliding bearing pads and the inner ring element.
PLAIN BEARING ARRANGEMENT
A sliding bearing includes: —an inner ring element; —an outer ring element; —at least one sliding bearing element, which is arranged between the inner ring element and the outer ring element.
BEARING
A bearing includes a bearing pad for supporting a rotary component and a housing attached to or formed integrally with the bearing pad. The housing includes a flexible column extending towards the bearing pad for providing the bearing pad with an airflow. The column supports the bearing pad from a location inward of an outer periphery of the bearing pad along an axial direction of the bearing. With such a configuration, a resistance of the bearing pad along a radial direction of the bearing is less at the outer periphery than a resistance of the bearing pad along the radial direction proximate the column.
GAS DISTRIBUTION LABYRINTH FOR BEARING PAD
The present disclosure is directed to a bearing assembly for a gas turbine engine. The bearing assembly includes a bearing housing and a bearing pad for supporting a rotary component of the gas turbine engine. The bearing pad includes at least one gas inlet and a plurality of gas outlets configured on an inner surface thereof. The gas inlet is in fluid communication with the plurality of gas outlets via a gas distribution labyrinth. Further, the gas distribution labyrinth includes a plurality of passageways configured to evenly distribute pressurized gas entering the gas inlet to an interface between the inner surface of the bearing pad and an outer diameter of the rotary component.
