INTRAVASCULAR BLOOD PUMP
An intravascular blood pump comprises a catheter, a rotor, a housing in which the rotor is housed and a flexible drive shaft extending through the catheter and rotatably supported in a proximal bearing located proximally of the rotor. The proximal bearing comprises a bearing sleeve and an outer bearing ring. The bearing sleeve comprises a proximal portion located proximally of the outer bearing ring, the proximal portion of the bearing sleeve forming an axial bearing with a proximal surface of the outer bearing ring. The bearing sleeve further comprises a distal portion extending from the proximal portion of the bearing sleeve distally into the outer bearing ring, wherein the distal portion of the bearing sleeve forms a radial bearing with the outer bearing ring.
TORQUE COUPLING ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Force coupling or torque coupling assemblies, apparatuses, systems, and methods include assemblies that each include superhard contact elements. At least some of the superhard contact elements may be configured to remain in contact with each other when a force is applied between the assemblies.
FORCE COUPLING ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Force coupling or torque coupling assemblies, apparatuses, systems, and methods include assemblies that each include superhard contact elements. At least some of the superhard contact elements may be configured to remain in contact with each other when a rotational force and/or a thrust force is applied between the assemblies.
METHOD FOR EXTENDING THE CAMPAIGN LIFE OF STABILIZERS FOR A COATING LINE
A steel processing line includes a dip tub and a stab roll. The dip tub is filled with a quantity of molten metal. At least a portion of the stab roll is submerged in the quantity of molten metal. The stab roll includes two journals. Each journal is received by an opening defined by a roller sleeve including a ceramic or refractory material. The roller sleeve is disposed between each journal and a bearing block. An inner dimension of each roller sleeve and an outer dimension of each respective journal defines a clearance. The inner dimension of each roller sleeve and the outer dimension of each respective journal is configured such that the clearance persists as the stab roll and the pair of roller sleeves are heated by the molten metal. Alternatively, inserts are fastened to an outer surface of each journal in lieu of the roller sleeves.
BEARING ASSEMBLIES, APPARATUSES, AND METHODS INCLUDING BEARING ELEMENTS
Bearing assemblies, apparatuses, systems, and methods include bearing assemblies where one of the bearing assemblies may include angled bearing surfaces having a planar shape.
SHACKLE FOR FASTENING AN AIRCRAFT ENGINE COMPRISING A PAIR OF ENCAPSULATED ANTI-FRICTION COATINGS, AND AIRCRAFT COMPRISING SUCH A SHACKLE
A shackle for fastening an aircraft engine including a ball joint with a pin including a ring including a first bore and a sleeve assembled in the first bore and having a second bore configured to receive the pin and the diameter of which progressively increases to have a flared inner surface at each of its ends, the fastening shackle being arranged such that a spherical outer surface of the ring bears an anti-friction coating produced on a region extending beyond the contact region with the body of the shackle, this first region being bordered by rims forming a projection around the coating, and/or the second bore bears an anti-friction coating on a region extending beyond its contact region with the pin, this region being bordered by rims forming a projection around this anti-friction coating, at the ends of the flared inner surface.
HETEROGENEOUS COMPOSITE BODIES WITH ISOLATED CERMET REGIONS FORMED BY HIGH TEMPERATURE, RAPID CONSOLIDATION
A heterogeneous composite consisting of near-nano ceramic clusters dispersed within a ductile matrix. The composite is formed through the high temperature compaction of a starting powder consisting of a core of ceramic nanoparticles held together with metallic binder. This core is clad with a ductile metal such that when the final powder is consolidated, the ductile metal forms a tough, near-zero contiguity matrix. The material is consolidated using any means that will maintain its heterogeneous structure.
Seal assembly for gas turbine engine
A seal assembly for a gas turbine engine having a seal formed of a carbon material; and a seal seat positioned for rotation relative to the seal, wherein the seal and the seal seat each have a sealing surface which together define a sliding seal, and further having a carbon film on the sealing surface of the seal seat.
Radially adjustable radial PDC bearings and related methods
Bearing assemblies and methods of using bearings are provided in the present disclosure. In one embodiment, a bearing ring is provided having a plurality of carrier components removably coupled therewith. Each carrier component may carry one or more bearing elements. Upon wearing of the bearing elements beyond a desired amount, the carrier components may be removed from the bearing ring and installed in a different bearing ring to place the mearing elements at their original bearing surface radius. In another embodiment, individual bearing elements may be radially adjustable relative to the bearing ring to define and redefine the radius of a radial bearing surface.
Bearing assembly with catalyst-free ultra-strong polycrystalline diamond (PCD) material
An electrical submersible pumping system includes thrust bearings and radial bearings fabricated from a micro-grained polycrystalline diamond compact (“USPCD”) material that is ultra-strong; and where the USPCD is produced using a catalyst free process. In examples, all components of the bearings are formed from the ultra-strong USPCD material. Pads are in the bearings that have a contact surface, and the pads selectively tilt about a tilt member in response to variations in an opposing contact surface. The tilt members are attached to or otherwise associated with the pads, and are in contact with a resilient member that improves tilting response of the pads. The resilient members are encased in jackets that cover surfaces of the resilient members not in contact with the tilt members. The jackets are set in channels formed in structure of the bearings.
