MECHANICAL SHOCK RESISTANT MOTORIZED DRIVE ASSEMBLY
An electronic device can include a motor that rotates a shaft that is coupled to a gear. A belt or a chain can be placed in contract with the gear and other rotational devices. For optimum performance, the chain or chain should be adjusted to an optimum tension. The tension can be adjusted by moving the motor and securing the motor in a position the provided the optimum tension. Alternatively, the motor can be in a fixed rigid position and an idler pulley in contact with the belt or chain can be positioned to provide the optimum tension.
BEARING LOCK, BEARING ASSEMBLY AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A lock for use with an assembly is provided. The assembly includes an inner race having a bore with a generally tapered periphery. The bearing assembly supports a shaft. The bearing lock includes a sleeve having a generally cylindrical internal periphery adapted for cooperation with the shaft and a generally tapered external periphery that cooperates with the bore. The sleeve conforms from a first condition whereby the internal periphery defines a first diameter to a second condition whereby the internal periphery defines a second diameter different than the first. The bearing lock also includes a collar that cooperates with the sleeve to urge the sleeve from the first condition to the second condition. The collar conforms from a first condition whereby the generally cylindrical internal periphery defines a first diameter to a second condition whereby the internal periphery defines a second diameter substantially different than the first.

A hover-capable aircraft is described that comprises a drive unit, a rotor and a transmission interposed between the drive unit and the rotor; the transmission comprises a gear; the gear, in turn, comprises a main body rotatable about a first axis and a plurality of first teeth projecting in a cantilever fashion from the main body; the gear comprises a first pair of first rings axially opposite to each other and cooperating with the gear so as to exert a radial force on the gear.
System for lubricating a sealed bearing and associated method
A method for lubricating a sealed bearing providing a first ring and a second ring capable of rotating concentrically relative to one another, and seals delimiting together with the first and second rings a sealed chamber. The method includes a removing a first predetermined quantity of lubricant from the sealed chamber until the pressure in the sealed chamber reaches a first pressure value, and then injecting a second predetermined quantity of lubricant in the sealed chamber until the pressure in the sealed chamber reaches a second pressure value, the first pressure value and the second pressure value being determined so that the pressure inside the sealed chamber remains within a predetermined interval, the boundaries of the interval being determined according to characteristics of the seals so that the sealed chamber remains waterproof to the lubricant when lubricant is removed from or injected in the sealed chamber.
OFFSET COMPOUND BEARING ASSEMBLY
Systems and methods are provided for a compound bearing assembly including an offset coupler supporting an inner bearing and an outer bearing for distributing a rotational loading of the compound bearing assembly. In some embodiments, at least one of the bearings comprises a bearing cage with a plurality of elongated openings for receiving a respective plurality of balls. The compound bearing assembly is configured to support a drive shaft of a supercharger system of a vehicle or some other rotational system.
Slewing bearing and applications thereof
A slewing bearing for vertical structural support, including a first bearing ring, a second bearing ring and at least one row of rolling elements arranged between the first and second bearing rings. The first or second bearing ring is provided with a gear for receiving the drive of an input torque, and the gear is provided axially thereunder with a lubricant collecting member for keeping the lubricant. A rotary support device is provided for supporting in a vertical structure. The device provides a first member that supports substantially in a vertical direction, a second member that is substantially supported by the first member in the vertical direction, and the slewing bearing acting as a rotary support between the first and second members. The first member is fixedly connected to the first bearing ring and the second member is fixedly connected to the second bearing ring.

A bearing assembly for supporting rotation of a shaft in a turbocharger includes an inner race extending along an axis. The inner race is configured to be coupled to the shaft. The bearing assembly also includes an outer race spaced radially from the inner race and a cage disposed radially between the inner race and the outer race. The bearing assembly further includes a rolling element disposed radially between the outer race and the inner race. The rolling element is disposed within the cage for supporting rotation of the shaft. The outer race defines a lubricant passageway configured to direct lubricant toward the cage.
