In one aspect, a wheel hub oil seal including an annular seal having a central opening to receive a vehicle spindle. The annular seal has an oil side for being contacted by oil in the wheel hub and an air side of the annular seal opposite the oil side. The annular seal has a radially outer mounting portion configured to sealingly engage an interior surface of the wheel hub. The annular seal includes a sealing member having a contact portion configured to form a dynamic seal with a running surface. The contact portion of the sealing member has an underlip pressure profile configured to pump oil toward the oil side of the annular seal upon rotation of the radially outer mounting portion of the annular seal with the wheel hub around the vehicle spindle.

Axle assembly with fluid storage tank

An axle assembly having an axle housing including a differential assembly having a ring gear and a lubrication directing assembly disposed directly adjacent to the ring gear. The lubrication directing assembly having a first lubrication flow surface, a second lubrication flow surface, and a trough. The axle assembly also includes an axle housing cover surrounding the axle housing. A fluid storage tank is attached to the housing cover, wherein the fluid storage tank includes a fill channel directly attached to the rear housing cover; an expandable air bladder disposed in the fluid storage tank; and a first valve disposed below the air bladder and in contact with the air bladder.

Baffle for installation inside a bearing chamber of a gas turbine engine

A bearing chamber configuration that favorably directs the flow of oil/air mixture inside the bearing chamber of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The bearing chamber includes an annular baffle surrounding a rotatable shaft. The baffle comprises an annular groove facing radially inwardly and a first radially-inner annular surface extending axially from a first side of the annular groove. The first radially-inner annular surface of the baffle cooperating with the shaft to define a first space inside the bearing chamber and adjacent the seal. The first space is circumferentially uniform.

A sealed rolling bearing includes an outer race and an inner race. A cylindrical portion provided at the outer portion of a sealing member is press-fitted into each end of the outer race. A cylindrical portion provided at the inner portion of a slinger is press-fitted onto each end of the inner race. The sealing member has at its inner peripheral portion first and second radial lips which are in elastic contact with the slinger to prevent entry of foreign matter into the bearing space. The slinger has an annular portion including an axially outwardly extending, outwardly bent portion provided at its outer peripheral portion. The outwardly bent portion has an outer periphery located inwardly of the outer end of the cylindrical portion of the sealing member. A small gap is defined between the outwardly bent portion and the inner surface of the cylindrical portion as a labyrinth.
