Tripot joint with assembly and disassembly ring
A tripot housing and method of manufacture thereof. The tripot housing includes a housing body extending along an axis between a first end having an end wall and an open second end. A drive shaft extends from the end wall along the axis away from the second end. The housing body has an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface defines a guide channel that extends between the first end and the second end. The outer surface has a first region extending axially along a direction from the first end toward the second end to a shoulder that extends radially outwardly from the first region. The outer surface has a second region extending axially from the shoulder toward the second end. A ring has an inner surface disposed in an interference fit on first region and an outer surface extending radially outwardly from the second region.
Composite shaft with outer periphery ring
A drive shaft has a central tubular portion formed of a polymer composite with imbedded fibers. It extends between a first end and a second end. The central tubular portion has an outer peripheral surface. There is at least one ring on the outer peripheral surface of the central tubular portion. A method of repairing a composite material tube includes the steps of (a) identifying a damaged area on a composite tube, and (b) placing a patch on a surface of the tube and over the damaged area.
BELT SHEAVE FOR PASSENGER CONVEYOR SYSTEMS
A sheave (100) for a passenger conveyor system is provided. The sheave (100) comprises a sheave axis (150) about which the sheave (100) rotates; a cylindrical sleeve (105); and a bearing (120a, 120b) centred on and arranged to rotate about the sheave axis (150). The cylindrical sleeve (105) includes an outer surface (110) including a groove (155) arranged to receive a belt; and an inner surface (115) defining a cylindrical cavity (122) centred on the sheave axis (150). The bearing (120a, 120b) includes an outer race (125a), an inner race (130a) and one or more rolling elements (135a) therebetween, wherein the outer race (125a) comprises a protrusion (140) arranged to hold the bearing (120a, 120b) within the cylindrical cavity (122) due to engagement between the protrusion (140) and the inner surface of the cylindrical sleeve (115).
Wheel bearing assembly
A wheel bearing assembly includes a wheel hub, at least one inner ring, an outer ring, and one or more rolling elements. An accommodation space may be formed inward of a vehicle-body-side end portion of the wheel hub to accommodate a constant velocity joint, and a plurality of recesses for accommodating rotating elements of the constant velocity joint are formed on an inner peripheral surface of the accommodation space to be spaced apart from each other along a circumferential direction. A first heat-treated hardened portion may be formed on the inner peripheral surface of the accommodation space, and may be formed to have portions with which the rotating elements of the constant velocity joint is brought into contact. A second heat-treated hardened portion may formed on an outer peripheral surface of the wheel hub. The first and second heat-treated hardened portions may not overlap each other.
Tolerance ring assembly
A tolerance ring having a first axial end, a second axial end, and a central axis, the tolerance ring including an annular band; a plurality of protrusions, all of the plurality of protrusions extending from the annular band; and a guide portion extending from the annular band towards the first axial end of the tolerance ring, where the guide portion includes a guide surface that is curved in an axial section.
Gyroscopic boat roll stabilizer with bearing cooling
A gyroscopic roll stabilizer includes an enclosure, a flywheel assembly, a bearing, a motor, and a bearing cooling circuit. The enclosure is mounted to a gimbal for rotation about a gimbal axis and configured to maintain a below-ambient pressure. The flywheel assembly includes a flywheel and flywheel shaft. The bearing rotatably mounts the flywheel assembly inside the enclosure for rotation about a flywheel axis. The bearing has an inner race and an outer race. The inner race is affixed to the flywheel shaft, and the outer race is held rotationally fixed relative to the enclosure. The motor is operative to rotate the flywheel assembly. The bearing cooling circuit is configured to transfer heat away from the bearing by recirculating cooling fluid along a closed fluid pathway. The gyroscopic roll stabilizer is configured to transfer heat away from the inner and/or outer race of the bearing to the cooling fluid.
STEER-BY-WIRE STEERING APPARATUS
According to the embodiments of the present invention, the overall size reduction allows installation space to be advantageously secured, reduction in noise generated during operation improves the comfort of the driver, and the strength and stability of the connective structure between parts can be increased and power transmission can be more effective.
Pre-tensioned rolling element mounting
A pre-tensioned bearing assembly, including: a first rolling bearing including a first outer ring, first inner ring including a first cylindrical surface, and a plurality of rolling elements radially disposed between the first inner and outer rings; a second rolling bearing including a second outer ring, a second inner ring including a second cylindrical surface, and a plurality of rolling elements radially disposed between the second inner and outer rings; a shaft including a shoulder in contact with the second rolling bearing; a first conically-shaped sleeve in contact with the first cylindrical surface and the second cylindrical surface, and including a conical inner surface; a second conically-shaped sleeve in contact with the conical inner surface; and a shaft nut including an internal thread in cooperation with the shaft, and fixing the first inner ring and the second inner ring axially onto the shaft.
