A one-way clutch, including: an outer race; an inner race; and a rocker assembly. The outer race includes: a first outer race plate defining a first rocker pocket; and a second outer race plate non-rotatably connected to the first outer race plate and defining a second rocker pocket. The inner race is axially disposed between the first and second outer race plates. The rocker assembly is at least partly disposed in the first and second rocker pockets and includes a rocker arranged to contact the inner race, a spring guide including a spring arm, and a spring wrapped around the spring arm and urging the rocker in a pivot direction. A flywheel is attached to a shaft of a turbine. As the shaft rotates, the flywheel swings outwards away from the shaft and regulates the angular velocity of the rotating shaft. In an embodiment, there are multiple flywheels attached to the shaft. In another embodiment there is a first flywheel that controls a second flywheel. In another embodiment, the flywheel has adjustable or centrifugal displacement of counterbalanced masses for effective rotational diameter with effective rotational balance. In another embodiment, a small pilot centrifugal displacement flywheel may control a clutch by rotational velocity and may include a hysteresis control. An example of a clutch may limit that degree to which the arms of the flywheel may be extended and/or retracted. In another embodiment, a small pilot centrifugal displacement flywheel controls the hysteresis of a centrifugal flywheel displacement.

INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH ELECTRIC STARTING SYSTEM

An engine including an engine block having a cylinder defining a front of the engine, a blower housing coupled to the engine block and defining a hot half positioned adjacent the front of the engine and a cool half opposite the hot half, and an electric starter system positioned within the blower housing. The electric starting system includes a starter mount assembly coupled to the blower housing, an electric starter motor retained by the starter mount assembly and positioned in the cool half, and a battery mounted to the blower housing and positioned in the cool half. The battery is electrically coupled to the electric starter motor.

Centrifugal clutch

Provided is a centrifugal clutch configured so that tilt of a clutch weight can be more effectively reduced to reduce occurrence of uneven wear of the clutch weight and a clutch shoe and smoothly swing the clutch weight. A centrifugal clutch 200 includes clutch weights 230 and plate-side cam bodies 218 on a drive plate 210 to be rotatably driven by drive force of an engine. The clutch weight 230 turnably displaces to a clutch outer 240 side, and includes a weight-side cam body 238 configured to climb on the plate-side cam body 218. In the clutch weight 230, each of a center portion CCP in a cam contact area CE between the plate-side cam body 218 and the weight-side cam body 238, the positions FP1, FP2 of action of force F1, F2 of a coupling spring 235, and a center portion SCP of a clutch shoe 236 in a thickness direction thereof is coincident with a barycentric position WCP of the clutch weight 230.

Electro-magnetic and centrifugal clutch

A clutch includes a first race, a second race, a pawl, a post, and a shoe. The second race defines a cam surface. The pawl is supported in the first race to pivot between an engaged position and a disengaged position such that contact between the cam surface and the pawl in the engaged position prevents relative rotation between the first and second races in at least one direction. The post is supported in the first race to slide between a first and a second position such that in the first position the post forces the pawl into the disengaged position. The shoe is configured to pivot with respect to the first race in response to a magnetic field to slide the post into the second position.

Multi-mode clutch module

A transmission clutch module includes an inner race, an outer race, and a plurality of race engaging pawls adapted to selectively secure the races together in either a locked position or an unlocked position. The clutch module includes 5 an actuator cam configured to be moved between two angularly spaced positions to control the pawls. The inner race is comprised of two axially spaced inner race plates axially secured together by rivets for retaining, and accommodating angular limited movements of the pawls. The pawls are circumferentially disposed about the inner race plates, and are radially outwardly biased by springs 10 to engage the outer race, unless blocked by the actuator cam. The pawls are weighted at one end, so that at a threshold speed of the inner race, they can overcome spring resistance to disengage from both the actuator cam and the outer race.
