20230007848 · 2023-01-12 ·

A spring brake system includes a service brake chamber, a spring brake chamber adjacent to the service brake chamber, a wall separating the service brake chamber from the spring brake chamber, a shaft, and a device. The shaft extends from the service brake chamber into the spring brake chamber through an opening in the wall. The device is disposed along the shaft through the wall, the device being configured to: i) allow air to flow from the service chamber into the spring brake chamber, and ii) prevent air from flowing from the spring brake chamber into the service chamber. The air is within a range that is sufficient to reduce a pressure differential between the service brake chamber and the spring brake chamber. The air is also within a range that is sufficient to generate an anti-compounding effect.

Pushing force-actuated braking device and rotary table using the same

A pushing force-actuated braking device includes an annular housing that houses a brake disc, a braking piston, plural braking elements, and a brake-releasing piston. When only the braking piston is under the action of a fluid, the braking piston applies an axial pushing force to the brake disc such that the brake disc is kept at a braking position jointly by the braking piston and the braking elements. When only the brake-releasing piston is under the action of a fluid, the brake-releasing piston applies an opposite pushing force to the brake disc to keep it at a brake-releasing position. Should the fluid acting on the braking piston fail, the force of the braking elements still enables the brake disc to produce a braking effect. The pushing force-actuated braking device has a modular design to facilitate assembly and disassembly. A rotary table using the braking device is also provided.

The application relates to a brake system for a vehicle, comprising a brake piston connectable to a brake pad and configured for performing a braking motion to press the brake pad against a friction surface, a hydraulic brake unit configured for hydraulic actuation of the braking motion, an electro-mechanical parking brake actuator configured for actuating the braking motion comprising a spindle rotatable by an electric motor, and a nut such that a rotational motion of the spindle leads to a translational motion of the nut, wherein the nut is coupled with the brake piston such that a translational motion of the nut toward the brake piston actuates the braking motion of the brake piston, wherein the brake system further comprises an elastic member coupling the brake piston with the nut, configured to drive a motion of the brake piston in a direction opposite the direction of the braking motion.

Vehicle brake system

Disclosed is a brake system for a railroad vehicle, including a parking brake provided with a piston and having a first configuration in which the piston is in a working position in which it acts on a lining support and applies a predetermined force to a brake disc; a second configuration in which the piston is in a rest position in which it does not act on the support and does not apply any force to the disc; and a third configuration in which, when the vehicle is not at a standstill and the ambient temperature in the environment of the disc is greater than a threshold value, it forces the piston to move towards a trip position different from its working and rest positions, in order to limit or cancel the force applied to the disc.

Powered axle for dual wheel work vehicle

Brake systems, vehicles having such brake systems, and methods of operating and installing the brake systems on vehicles. Such a brake system operates one or more brakes to reduce the speed of the vehicle through the operation of a brake pedal. The system includes a hydraulic circuit functionally coupled to the one or more brakes and configured to apply a braking force with the brake(s) that is in relation to a change in pressure of hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic circuit, and an air circuit functionally coupling the brake pedal to the hydraulic circuit. The air circuit is configured to convert manual actuation of the brake pedal to a change in the pressure of the hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic circuit and thereby apply a braking force in relation to a degree of actuation of the brake pedal.
