Methods and system controlling a power take off
Systems and methods for operating a power take off of a vehicle are described. In one example, operation of the power take off may be maintained even when slip of a power take off clutch is detected. In particular, the power take off may be operated at a lower output until the power take off may handle larger loads.
HARVESTER POWER TAKEOFF CLUTCH SYSTEM INCLUDING DETACHABLE EXTENSION MODULE
A harvester power takeoff (PTO) clutch system includes a detachable PTO extension module and transmission gearbox housing, which has a clutch compartment and a clutch service port through which the clutch compartment can be accessed. A PTO clutch is disposed in the clutch compartment, while a clutch shaft extends from the PTO clutch and projects from the clutch compartment through the clutch service port. The detachable PTO extension module includes, in turn: a PTO housing extension mounted to the transmission gearbox housing; a PTO shaft rotatably coupled to the PTO clutch and projecting from the PTO housing extension in a direction opposite the transmission gearbox housing; an inner extension bearing disposed in the PTO housing extension and rotatably supporting the clutch shaft; and an outer extension bearing further disposed in the PTO housing extension and rotatably supporting the PTO shaft.
TRANSMISSION INTERNAL PTO CLUTCH AND METHOD OF CONTROL
A method of selectively controlling a power take-off (PTO) assembly includes positioning a clutch assembly radially between a shaft and a PTO gear, operably controlling the clutch assembly with a controller, and selectively engaging the clutch assembly with the controller. The controller monitors signals received from a plurality of sensors and compares the monitored signals with respective signal thresholds. The clutch assembly is engaged when the compared monitored signals are within the signal thresholds.
Fluid actuated over-center clutch for a PTO
A hollow double-acting cylinder assembly may be mounted over a shaft and to a housing. A moveable piston of the cylinder assembly connects to a sliding sleeve of an over-center mechanism and the sliding sleeve with a thrust bearing allowing it to push and pull the sleeve mechanism with cylinder action. A toggle action of the over-center mechanism locks clutch without the need to sustain pressure on the cylinder after engagement/disengagement motion. As the clutch is typically engaged for sustained periods of time, this prevents constant hydraulic pressure applied to the over-center mechanism and significantly reduces wear. Hydraulic/pneumatic hoses may pass through the housing and connect to engage and disengage bores of the cylinder via remotely actuated control valve(s).
Working vehicle
A working vehicle includes a PTO shaft to transmit power of a propulsion shaft, a PTO clutch including a first rotor to be rotated by the power of the propulsion shaft, a second rotor to transmit the power to the PTO shaft, a press to be moved by a pressure of operation fluid between an engaging side on which the first rotor is engaged with the second rotor and a disengaging side, and a PTO brake to brake the PTO shaft when the press is positioned on the disengaging side, a control valve to control the pressure of the operation fluid to be applied to the PTO clutch, a rate setter to set a reducing rate at which the pressure of the operation fluid is reduced, and a controller to control the control valve based on the reducing rate.
WORK VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR WORK VEHICLE
A control method for a work vehicle, includes: acquiring a signal for changing a state of a traveling device, to which power is transmitted via a transmission and a clutch, between forward, neutral, and reverse states; outputting a command for reducing a torque of an output shaft connected to the traveling device in a state where a first clutch is engaged, before a specified time elapses from a time point at which the signal for changing to the neutral state is acquired in a state where the first clutch is engaged; outputting a command for releasing the first clutch after the specified time elapses; and outputting a command for controlling the transmission so that a rotation speed of an input-side element of a second clutch to be engaged next coincides with that of an output-side element of the second clutch in a state where the first clutch is released.
Drivetrain overload protection for work vehicles using power boost
Overload protection systems and methods are provided for controlling the amount of energy delivered to the drivetrain of work vehicles including axles, transmission, and other components thereof including for vehicles using power boost. A sensor in operative communication with a primary power equipment unit driving a transmission of a work vehicle generates a torque signal representative of torque delivered to the transmission by the primary power equipment unit. The overload protection method and system uses the torque signal to control the torque delivered to the transmission of a work vehicle by the primary power equipment unit.
METHOD FOR MONITORING THE FUNCTIONS OF A FRICTION CLUTCH
A method is disclosed for monitoring the functions of a friction clutch which is arranged in a vehicle between a drive motor and a compressor of a compressed air supply system and which can be disengaged and engaged pneumatically. In a delivery mode of the compressor, at least one operating parameter is detected by sensor and evaluated in an electronic control unit. When a slipping condition of the friction clutch is identified, a value for a cut-off pressure of the compressor stored in the electronic control unit is reduced. When a slipping condition has been identified, the delivery mode of the compressor is ended by disengagement of the friction clutch, and a warning signal and/or warning information is outputted.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING A POWER TAKE-OFF UNIT
The present invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle. A request for coupling a power take-off is detected. It is checked (12) whether relevant boundary conditions for coupling the power take-off are fulfilled. If the boundary conditions are fulfilled, a system pressure for actuating the power take-off clutch is built up (16). It is checked (18) whether sufficient system pressure to actuate the power take-off clutch has been built up. When sufficient system pressure has been built up, a confirmation signal is produced (20). In reaction to the confirmation signal, a driving transmission control unit is modified (34) in order to actuate the at least one shifting element of the driving transmission with a higher actuation pressure than with an unmodified driving transmission control unit.
