Methods and system controlling a power take off
Systems and methods for operating a power take off of a vehicle are described. In one example, operation of the power take off may be maintained even when slip of a power take off clutch is detected. In particular, the power take off may be operated at a lower output until the power take off may handle larger loads.
ESCROW CLUTCH PROTECTION
Disclosed are systems and methods for protecting an escrow clutch of a self-service terminal. The systems and methods may include actuating a motor of the self-service terminal to cause an escrow clutch of the self-service terminal to spin at a rate. As the clutch spins, a determination as to when a clutch slippage exceeds a preset slippage rate may be made. When the clutch slippage exceeds the preset slippage rate, the motor may be actuated to cause the escrow clutch to spin at a second rate. The second rate may less than the first rate.

Method of calibrating a wet clutch for generating transfer functions on a test bench
A bench test calibration method for generating wet clutch torque transfer functions includes obtaining in-vehicle clutch torques at a set of shift conditions; performing a series of bench tests at various clutch pack clearances and lubrication oil flow rates at the set of shift conditions; adjusting clutch pack clearances and lubrication oil flow rates during the series of bench tests in response to a difference between a bench test measured clutch torques and the corresponding in-vehicle clutch torques exceeding a threshold; and recording relationships between first bench test measured torques and force profiles of a clutch actuator relative to the adjusted clutch pack clearances and lubrication oil flow rates for each of the set of shift conditions as a first transfer function.
System and method for clutch pressure control
A method for controlling clutch pressure in an electronically controlled limited slip differential comprises receiving a target clutch pressure command indicative of a desired differential torque transfer setting. Processing the target clutch pressure command comprises estimating one of a motor current or a motor speed, calculating an integrated error of a target motor current or an integrated error of a target motor speed, calculating gains over time based on the estimated motor current or the estimated motor speed and based on the integrated error of the target motor current or the integrated error of the target motor speed, applying the calculated gains thereby forming a closed loop feedback, and calculating an oscillation. The target motor current or the target motor speed is applied to a motor connected to a clutch in the differential according to the calculated oscillation to control the clutch pressure of the differential.
Vehicle With Wheel-End Disconnect And Associated Control Method
One vehicle wheel is disconnected from a differential while the vehicle is in a front wheel drive mode. A controller checks for a malfunction of the differential while the vehicle is in the front wheel drive mode and in response to a request to enter an all wheel drive mode. If speeds of the other vehicle wheel and the differential input indicate that the malfunction is present, the all wheel drive mode is disabled and the driver is informed. If fluid temperature indicates a risk of the malfunction, all wheel drive mode is temporarily disabled and the driver is informed. If the temperature condition continues to be present for a predetermined duration, the all wheel drive mode is disabled.
TEMPERATURE BASED CLUTCH CONTROL
A vehicle includes a clutch to couple a motor and transmission, and a controller that, in response to a regenerative braking request and a temperature being within a first range, partially capacitizes the clutch for regenerative torque transfer therethrough with slip, and in response to another regenerative braking request and the temperature being within a second range less than the first, fully capacitizes the clutch prior to regenerative torque transfer therethough to preclude slip.
Adjusting the system pressure for a clutch
Setting a system pressure for a hydraulically actuated clutch comprises a) Providing a system comprising a pump drivable by an electrically operated motor controlled by a control unit that senses a motor current and rotational speed and a system temperature is determined; b) a characteristic diagram is provided specifying values for at least the motor current and rotational speed for different system operating points; c) Accessing the characteristic diagram while operating a vehicle; d) Sensing at least the motor current and rotational speed at at least a first operating point and determining the system temperature; e) Comparing the values, acquired in step d) for the current and speed with the values for the current and rotational speed from the characteristic diagram according to step b); f) Adapting the characteristic diagram for the system on the basis of the parameters determined in step d).
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A CLUTCH UNIT
A method for controlling a clutch unit for a drive train of a motor vehicle, wherein the clutch unit comprises a wet-running friction clutch for controllably transmitting torque from an input element to an output element of the clutch unit, wherein the clutch unit comprises oil for cooling the friction clutch, wherein heat inputs which contribute to heating the oil of the clutch unit are calculated, heat outflows which contribute to cooling the oil of the clutch unit are calculated and, as a function of the heat inputs and heat outflows, a maximum admissible clutch torque is calculated, and wherein the current clutch torque of the friction clutch is limited to the maximum admissible clutch torque.
ELECTRIC OIL PUMP FOR AUTOMOBILE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT, ELECTRIC OIL PUMP CONTROL METHOD FOR AUTOMOBILE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT, VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE ELECTRIC OIL PUMP FOR AUTOMOBILE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT
An electric oil pump for automobile transmission clutch engagement includes: a temperature sensor that measures a temperature of oil supplied to an oil supply destination relating to clutch engagement of an automobile transmission; an oil pump drive motor; a current determination part that determines a current value output to the oil pump drive motor to a predetermined current value determined such that the oil pump drive motor is capable of being driven without stopping in a case where the temperature is equal to or less than a predetermined temperature at which a torque of the oil pump drive motor becomes smaller than a load of the oil pump drive motor; and an oil pump that supplies oil to the oil supply destination by the oil pump drive motor being driven based on the determined current value.
