System and Method for Selective Electromechanical Coupling and/or Uncoupling of Automotive Alternator

It is herein described a system and a corresponding method to carry out the selective coupling and uncoupling of an alternator in relation to an engine crankshaft pulley. The alternator is kept coupled or uncoupled depending on the detected battery charge, and both coupling and uncoupling are performed in two different steps and lagged in time, one step providing the electric coupling or uncoupling, and the other step providing the mechanical coupling or uncoupling.

CLUTCH BURNISHING

Technologies for enhancing performance of a clutch that is installed in connection with a transport climate control system is provided. Enhancing performance of the clutch can be performed by establishing engagement cycling parameters for the clutch, cycling the clutch through a repetition of engagement and disengagement in accordance with the established engagement cycling parameters, and terminating the cycling upon achievement of at least one predetermined criterion.

Method for synchronizing two drive elements of a powertrain of a motor vehicle, and powertrain for a motor vehicle

A method for synchronizing a first drive element rotatable about an axis of rotation with a second drive element rotating about the axis of rotation at a target speed, of a powertrain of a motor vehicle, in which a synchronizing force is exerted on a synchronizing unit by an actuator. A speed, at which the first drive element rotates about the axis of rotation is adapted by the synchronizing unit to the target speed. The synchronizing force is increased during a first time span, so that the speed approaches the target speed. The synchronizing force is continuously reduced during a second time span following the first time span, before the speed corresponds to the target speed.

Clutch torque control method for DCT vehicle

A clutch torque control method for a dual clutch transmission (DCT) vehicle may include a shift initiation determining step of determining whether power-on downshift in which a driver steps on an accelerator pedal to change a current shift stage to a lower shift stage is initiated, and a torque correcting step of correcting basic control torque according to torque-stroke (TS) curve characteristics for controlling a disengagement-side clutch within a real shift range in which a number of rotations of an engine is changed with observer torque calculated by a torque observer when the power-on downshift is initiated, and determining the corrected basic control torque into control torque of the disengagement-side clutch.

The present invention provides a method for searching a touch point of a clutch in a dual clutch transmission, including: (a) a step of checking whether a touch point searching condition for a non-driving clutch and a driving clutch is met or not; (b) when the search condition of the step (a) is met, a step of detecting a searching point at which an absolute value of a difference between an acceleration value of an engine and an acceleration value of the driving clutch is larger than a threshold value after applying a position value of the non-driving clutch to the engine; and (c) a step of determining a position of the non-driving clutch corresponding to the searching point as the touch point.
