Provided is a system and method for controlling a clutch plate assembly of a vehicle. The system may include a first clutch control system, a second clutch control system, and a valve system. The valve system may have a first input fluidly connected to the first clutch control system for receiving a first pressure from the first clutch control system, a second input configured to be fluidly connected to the second clutch control system for receiving a second pressure from the second clutch control system, and an output configured to be fluidly connected to the clutch plate assembly. The valve system may be configured to provide at least a portion of at least one of the first pressure and the second pressure to the clutch plate assembly.

Slip control method and arrangement for a driveline

A slip control method and arrangement for a driveline is described herein. The driveline includes a clutch that is so controlled as to slip when a torque higher than the usable torque attempts to pass through. Accordingly, the clutch prevents the prime mover from stalling.

A controller causes a clutch to transition from a half-engaged state to an engaged state when a difference in rotational velocity between input and output sides of the clutch falls within a predetermined range in the half-engaged state of the clutch. The controller executes a moving start control to increase an output rotational velocity of a prime mover and cause the clutch to transition to the engaged state when a predetermined first condition is satisfied in the half-engaged state of the clutch.

A clutch controller provides protective disengagement of a clutch between an engine and driven machinery to prevent engine failure due to rapid onset overload. Sensor signals of measured parameters are used by the controller to determine potential engine failure. Multiple, successive sensor signals and elapsed times are assessed during which the current sensor signal value and the scaled rate of change in signal values is compared against a predefined amount. The clutch controller sends a clutch disengagement signal if a calculation result is indicative of imminent failure.

Method for controlling clutch of vehicle with automated manual transmission

The present disclosure relates to a technique for improving durability of a clutch and shifting stability. The present disclosure provides a method of controlling a clutch of an automated manual transmission (AMT) vehicle, which reduces a micro-slip control time in order to improve durability of the clutch by performing a full-lock control of the clutch after slip control for learning a clutch characteristic curve. Additionally, the method shortens time to open the clutch for a subsequent shifting by predicting the time when a shift restarts after the full-lock control and by resuming the micro-slip control.

A driver assistance device for a motor vehicle with a drive assembly, which can be connected to a drivetrain via a clutch that can be activated by an actuator. The clutch being a component of an electronically controlled clutch system, in which a clutch pedal sensor detects an actuation of a clutch pedal on the driver's side and in which an analysis unit determines, in a first control mode on the basis of the detected clutch pedal actuation, a clutch torque and actuates the clutch with a corresponding clutch signal. For an adjustment of the clutch response on the driver's side, the analysis unit is associated with an input unit, for the actuation of which, on the driver's side, it is possible to shift between the first control mode and at least one second control mode.

Supervisory control system to select PTO clutch engagement method based on real-time inertial load estimation

A method for controlling power takeoff (PTO) clutch engagement includes determining an output clutch speed, adjusting a clutch current at a predetermined rate, estimating an inertial load of a PTO implement and adjusting the clutch current for one or more times at a time interval, and selecting a clutch control algorithm configured for the inertial load of the PTO implement.

System and method of controlling engine clutch engagement during TCS operation of hybrid vehicle

A system and method of controlling engine clutch engagement during TCS operation of a hybrid vehicle are provided. The method includes determining whether a TCS is operating and upon determining that the TCS is operating, determining a compensation value for early engagement of an engine clutch during the TCS operation based on a difference between a front wheel speed and a rear wheel speed and a slip amount of front wheels. Additionally, the method includes determining whether engagement of the engine clutch is capable of being started based on the compensation value and starting the engine clutch engagement. Since the engagement of the engine clutch is controlled based on the speed of non-drive wheels during TCS operation, the engagement stability of the engine clutch is improved and the amount of time required to engage the engine clutch is decreased.
