An intelligent clutch lubrication system includes a first dynamically-lubricated clutch pack, a supply pump, a first lubricant control (LC) valve, and a lubricant flow circuit having a clutch lubrication loop in which the first clutch pack is positioned. The first LC valve is positioned in the clutch lubrication loop at a location upstream of the first clutch pack, while a controller architecture is operably coupled to the first LC valve. the controller architecture is configured to control the first LC valve to temporarily boost lubricant flow to the first DL clutch pack when moving into an engaged position during operation of the intelligent clutch lubrication system.
Method of calibrating a wet clutch for generating transfer functions on a test bench
A bench test calibration method for generating wet clutch torque transfer functions includes obtaining in-vehicle clutch torques at a set of shift conditions; performing a series of bench tests at various clutch pack clearances and lubrication oil flow rates at the set of shift conditions; adjusting clutch pack clearances and lubrication oil flow rates during the series of bench tests in response to a difference between a bench test measured clutch torques and the corresponding in-vehicle clutch torques exceeding a threshold; and recording relationships between first bench test measured torques and force profiles of a clutch actuator relative to the adjusted clutch pack clearances and lubrication oil flow rates for each of the set of shift conditions as a first transfer function.

Lubrication system for power transmission unit
A lubrication system for a power transmission unit that supplies oil to a starting clutch in an appropriate amount irrespective of an engagement state of the starting clutch. When the friction clutch is completely engaged or disengaged, a first control valve is brought into a low inflow rate mode, and the second control valve is brought into a low outflow rate mode. When the friction clutch is engaged while causing a slip the first control valve is brought into a high inflow rate mode, and the second control valve is brought a high outflow rate mode.
Clutch control device
There is provided a clutch control device which includes an electric oil pump, a clutch unit, and a pressure measurement unit, and which controls an operation of the electric oil pump so as to change a transmission state of the clutch unit. The device includes a pressure control valve that is located between an oil passage for connecting the electric oil pump and the clutch unit to each other and an oil pan for storing an unpressurized hydraulic oil, and that discharges the pressurized hydraulic oil from the oil passage to the oil pan, when pressure of the hydraulic oil exceeds valve opening pressure, and a pump drive control unit that controls hydraulic pressure by driving the electric oil pump, based on target pressure indicated by a change command of the transmission state of the clutch unit and the hydraulic pressure measured by the pressure measurement unit.
