Friction clutch
A friction clutch having an electromagnet assembly including a coil and a magnet connected to the coil. When the coil is energised, a magnetic field is generated and passes through the magnet and a magnetisable conductive body adjacent to the magnet, such that a displaceable magnetisable armature portion can be brought from one position into another position. The coil has a plurality of outer portions each having an associated outer dimension of the outer portion. The magnet completely covers an outer portion of the coil by a magnet side. Two further outer portions of the coil are not covered by the magnet or are not covered by more than 20% of an outer dimension of the further outer portion, or wherein, in the case a single further outer portion covered by the magnet, the outer portion is not covered by more than 70%.
POWER TRANSMISSION DEVICE
There is provided a power transmission device to switch a coupled state and an uncoupled state between a first member and a second member which are arranged in a transmission path of a driving force to thereby control transmission of the driving force. The device includes a movable body having ferromagnetic property, a first magnetic path and a second magnetic path, and a permanent magnet. The device also includes a driving portion to excite the electromagnet in the forward direction and then increases an attraction force on a side on which a magnetic flux is increased or decreased.
OVERRUNNING, NON-FRICTION COUPLING AND CONTROL ASSEMBLY, ENGAGEABLE COUPLING ASSEMBLY AND LOCKING MEMBER FOR USE IN THE ASSEMBLIES
An overrunning, non-friction coupling and control assembly, an engageable coupling assembly and locking members for use in the assemblies are provided. A centroid or center of mass of at least one of the locking members is substantially centered on a pivot axis of the locking member so that the locking member is substantially centrifugally neutral or balanced thereby making the locking member easier to pivot between engaged and disengaged positions with respect to the coupling members of its corresponding assembly at high rotational speeds.
Surgical dissectors configured to apply mechanical and electrical energy
A surgical instrument comprising an end effector is disclosed. The end effector comprises a surgical dissector. The surgical dissector can apply mechanical and/or electrosurgical energy to treated tissue.
Axially oriented linear actuator including single stator coil, and clutch assembly having the actuator
An axially oriented, two-position linear actuator includes a fixed stator having a single stator coil and a linear movable translator. The linear actuator is oriented axially in that the stator and the translator are axially offset from one another and the translator is axially movable between first and second end positions toward and away from the stator. For the translator to move between the end positions, the stator coil attracts or repels the translator depending on the polarity of the electrical current of the stator coil. The linear actuator may be part of a clutch assembly, such as a dynamically controllable clutch, for use in controlling coupling members of the clutch assembly.
Electromagnetic friction disk clutch, auxiliary unit of an internal combustion engine, and method
An electromagnetic friction disk clutch with a shaft, an electromagnet arrangement, a rotor for driving the shaft, and an armature disk which is connected to the shaft and moveable in a sprung manner in a direction which is axial to a shaft axis. In a shifting state of the friction disk clutch, the armature disk can be connected to the rotor in a frictionally locking manner, the rotor being mounted rotationally by a rotor bearing unit with respect to the housing section and with respect to the shaft, a magnetic effect is generated for connecting the armature disk to the rotor. The rotor bearing unit is offset with respect to the electromagnet arrangement in an axial direction with respect to the shaft, and overlaps the electromagnet arrangement in the axial direction with respect to the shaft.
COUPLING AND CONTROL ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A NON-CONTACT, LINEAR INDUCTIVE POSITION SENSOR
A coupling and control assembly including a non-contact, linear inductive position sensor is provided. The assembly includes a coupling housing and a stator structure disposed within the coupling housing and including a stator housing. A translator structure is coupled to a coupling member of the assembly to rotate therewith about a rotational axis. The sensor is mounted on one of the housings. The translator structure includes a coupler element made of an electrically conductive material. The sensor is configured to create a magnetic field to induce eddy currents in the electrically conductive material. Movement of the coupler element changes a magnetic field caused by the eddy currents. The sensor provides a position feedback signal for vehicle transmission control. The signal is correlated with the linear position of the translator structure along the rotational axis.
Method for manufacturing laminated iron core
A method for manufacturing a laminated iron core includes providing a plurality of annular iron core piece rows, each of which is configured by annularly arranging a plurality of divided iron core pieces including yokes and teeth, and the yokes of the annularly-adjacent divided iron core pieces in the annular iron core piece row are mutually different in shape. In the method, the annular iron core piece rows are laminated by changing a rotational angle of the newly laminated annular iron core piece row relatively to the lastly laminated annular iron core piece row laminated so that the divided iron core piece with a shape different from that of the divided iron core piece is laminated on the lastly laminated divided iron core piece.
Surgical suturing instrument configured to manipulate tissue using mechanical and electrical power
A surgical instrument comprising a jaw assembly is disclosed. The surgical instrument further comprises a motor-driven drive system configured to open the jaw assembly. The surgical instrument also comprises a control system configured to control the drive system and, also, control a power supply system configured to supply electrical power to electrodes defined in the outer surface, or outer surfaces, of the jaw assembly. In use, the surgical instrument can be used to apply mechanical energy and electrical energy to the tissue of a patient at the same time, or at different times. In certain embodiments, the user controls when the mechanical and electrical energies are applied. In some embodiments, the control system controls when the mechanical and electrical energies are applied.
