Tooth Driven Over-torque Protection Mechanism for a Slack Adjuster or an Air Disc Brake Clutch
A tooth driven over-torque protection mechanism for use in a slack adjuster or as an air disc brake clutch, includes a shaft, toothed gear, a clutch device, a first spring, and a second spring. The toothed gear is disposed on the shaft. The toothed gear has a first pinion teeth set that extends along a first direction and a second teeth set that extends along a second direction. The clutch device that is also disposed on the shaft and includes an upper cam and a lower cam. The first spring biases the toothed gear against the clutch device. The second spring biases the clutch device against the toothed gear. The upper cam has cam teeth that cooperate with the second teeth set of the toothed gear in a torque transmitting manner, such that a torque applied in a clockwise direction to the first pinion teeth is transmitted to the upper cam through the second teeth set, but torque applied in a counterclockwise direction is opposed by the first spring.
Clutch mechanism for rotary power tool
A clutch mechanism is used in a rotary power tool having a motor. The clutch mechanism includes an input member to which torque from the motor is transferred and an output member co-rotatable with the input member. The output member defines a rotational axis. A cam surface is formed on one of the input member or the output member. First and second compression springs are carried by the other of the input member or the output member for co-rotation therewith. A follower has a circular cross-sectional shape and is biased against the cam surface by the first and second compression springs. In response to relative rotation between the input member and the output member, the cam surface displaces the follower along a line of action coaxial or parallel with each of the first and second compression springs. The line of action does not intersect the rotational axis.
Fine Pitch Adjuster
A fine pitch adjuster that includes a housing, a wheel gear positioned within the housing and coupled to a ball stud, wherein rotation of the wheel gear provides inward and outward longitudinal translation of the ball stud relative to the housing, and a clutching worm input drive including, an inner drive sleeve having a shaft portion and a head portion, the shaft portion including a plurality of sleeve slots formed therein and a plurality of engagement ribs, and an outer worm gear sleeve having worm gear threads, the worm gear threads coupled at least indirectly to the wheel gear, and an inner chamber, the outer worm gear sleeve including a plurality of grooves extending longitudinally along the inner chamber for mating engagement with the plurality of engagement ribs, wherein rotation of the inner drive sleeve provides clutchable engagement with the outer worm gear sleeve to rotate the wheel gear.
Clutch apparatus
An excessive torque releasing type clutch apparatus comprises an outer ring, an inner ring arranged radially inside and coaxially with the outer ring and rotatably relative to the outer ring, a torque transmitting portion capable of transmitting torque between the outer ring and the inner ring, and a restricting mechanism for restricting excessive torque from being input from an input torque transmitting member to a driving ring of the outer ring and the inner ring and restricting excessive inverse torque that is input to a driven ring of the outer ring and the inner ring from being input to the input torque transmitting member. Treatment steps for securing strength of constituent members of the clutch apparatus in manufacturing be simplified or omitted.
BIDIRECTIONAL TORQUE LIMITER
Provided is a novel bidirectional torque limiter free from any rotational backlash between an inner race and an outer race. A first hook portion (16) of a first coil spring (6) and a second hook portion (20) of a second coil spring (10) are to be fixed by an intermediate race (8) and an outer race (12), respectively.
Torque limiter and power transmission device
A torque limiter, fixed to a flywheel including an annular portion to which knock pins each including a trunk portion are fixed, is disclosed. The torque limiter includes a first plate, a second plate axially opposed to the first plate, a friction disc disposed between the first and second plates, a pressing member, and a third plate. The pressing member presses the second plate onto the friction disc. The third plate holds the pressing member together with the second plate therebetween. The third plate includes knock pin through holes such that the knock pin are fitted therein. The third plate is attached at an attachment surface thereof to the flywheel. A length between a surface of the pressing member, facing an interior of an accommodation portion of the flywheel, and the attachment surface of the third plate is shorter than a length of the trunk portion of each knock pin.
Hybrid module
A rotor assembly for a hybrid module includes a rotor carrier, a rotor segment, an end ring, a first spacer, a second spacer, and a compressed spring. The rotor carrier includes a first outer cylindrical surface and a radial surface, and the rotor segment is installed on the first outer cylindrical surface. The end ring is fixed to the rotor carrier and arranged for fixing to an engine flexplate. The first spacer is disposed axially between the rotor segment and the radial surface, and the second spacer is disposed axially between the rotor segment and the end ring. The compressed spring is disposed axially between the end ring and the second spacer to press the first spacer, the second spacer, and the rotor segment against the radial surface for frictional torque transmission between the rotor segment and the rotor carrier.
Slip coupling for a work machine
A slip coupling for a work machine includes a main clutch in the form of a friction-based and spring-operated slip clutch. The slip coupling further includes an auxiliary clutch configured to maintain a pre-set spring-induced clamping force on friction plates of the slip clutch, when the slip coupling rotates in a forward direction, and further configured to be able to increase the spring-induced clamping force, when the slip coupling rotates in a reverse rotational direction. The increase of the clamping force is enabled by the fact that one of two auxiliary clutch parts is axially movable when the slip coupling rotates in the reverse rotational direction, the axial movement actuating an increase in pre-tension of mechanical spring or springs of the slip clutch. A work machine such as a combine harvester equipped with the slip coupling is also described.
