A cantilever bushing assembly anchors the central torsional section of a vehicular stabilizer bar in a cantilevered manner relative to a vehicle understructure. The bushing assembly comprises a bracket having a pocket centered on a pocket axis that coincides with a longitudinal axis of the stabilizer bar. Two plastic outer cans are cooperatively slidable into the pocket. Each outer can has an anti-rotation lobe received in respective keyways formed in the pocket. A rubber buffer is bonded to each outer can. Each rubber buffer has a frusto-cylindrical inner bearing surface that forms an arcuate portion of an interior bushing diameter. The inner bearing surface is post-vulcanization bonded to the central torsional section of the stabilizer bar. An arched rate plate is embedded within each rubber buffer. The rubber buffers compress in the area of the inner bearing surfaces and constrict about the central torsional section of the stabilizer bar.

An elastomeric bushing comprises an inner sleeve, an elastomeric bumper disposed around and directly engaging the inner sleeve, and an outer sleeve disposed around the inner sleeve and the elastomeric bumper. The outer sleeve is spaced apart from the inner sleeve and directly engages the elastomeric bumper. The inner sleeve includes a first protrusion and a second protrusion axially spaced apart from one another. The outer sleeve includes a radially inwardly extending indentation axially positioned between the first protrusion and the second protrusion. The indentation traps a first portion of the elastomeric bumper between the first protrusion and a first surface of the indentation and also traps a second portion of the elastomeric bumper between the second protrusion and a second surface of the indentation.

The disclosure relates to a bearing, having an inner core, an outer cage which surrounds the inner core in a radial direction, and an elastomer body which resiliently connects the inner core and the outer cage together, wherein the outer cage has an inner stop projection, wherein the inner stop projection protrudes radially inwards from an inner circumferential face of the outer cage and has an inner stop face, wherein the inner core has an outer stop projection, wherein the outer stop projection protrudes radially outwards from an outer circumferential face of the inner core and has an outer stop face which faces the inner stop face, and wherein the inner stop face and the outer stop face overlap in an axial direction. Bushing

The invention relates to an assembly comprising a bushing with a center line L, having an inner sleeve with a mounting bore, an outer sleeve and an elastomeric spring member extending along a height H along the center line L. In one embodiment, the outer surface of the inner sleeve, the spring member and the inner surface of the outer sleeve are on each side of the center line L substantially parallel. On at least one side of the longitudinal center line L, the outer surface of the inner sleeve, the spring member and the inner surface of the outer sleeve extend at an angle to the center line L. An outer surface of the outer sleeve is substantially parallel to the center line L along the height H. Another embodiment of an assembly according to the invention comprises a bushing with a mounting bore that extends at an angle to the center line L. The bushing according to the invention is compact, can be easily manufactured and assembled, take up a high load and can be adjusted to the direction along which forces act on the bushing.
