Intermediate plate apparatus and related damper assemblies for use with vehicles are disclosed. A disclosed vehicle torque converter includes a clutch and a torsional vibration damper configured to receive a torque from the clutch when the clutch is engaged and dampen a torsional vibration in the torque. The torsional vibration damper includes a driven plate, a retainer plate, a first spring member, a second spring member, and an intermediate plate positioned radially outward relative to the driven plate and the retainer plate. The intermediate plate includes a body that defines an annular cavity though which the first and second spring members extend. The body is configured to engage inner and outer radial portions of the respective first and second spring members to maintain bend radii of the respective first and second spring members.

Vibration attenuator

A vibration attenuator for a rotor of an aircraft has a housing adapted for rotation with the rotor about an axis. A first ring is rotatably carried within the housing on a first bearing, a first weight being coupled to the first ring for rotation therewith relative to the housing about the axis. A second ring is rotatably carried by the first ring on a second bearing, a second weight being coupled to the second ring for rotation therewith relative to the housing and to the first ring. A first motor is configured for rotating the first ring relative to the housing, and a second motor is configured for rotating the second ring relative to the housing and to the first ring. The first and second motors are operated to rotate the weights within the housing and position the weights relative to each other for attenuating vibrations.

The crankshaft assembly has a rupture containment means, which engages radially externally around the centrifugal pendulum such that components of the centrifugal pendulum coming lose during rotation of the centrifugal pendulum are collected by the rupture containment means.

Damper device

A damper device includes an input element to which a torque from an engine is transmitted, an output element, an elastic body arranged to transmit a torque between the input element and the output element, and a rotary inertia mass damper that includes a planetary gear that includes a sun gear arranged to rotate integrally with one element of the input element and the output element, a carrier that rotatably supports a plurality of pinion gears and is arranged to rotate integrally with the other element of the input element and the output element, and a ring gear that meshes with the plurality of pinion gears and works as a mass body. The other element includes two plate members that are opposed to each other and coupled with each other by means of a plurality of rivets disposed between the pinion gears.

The crankshaft assembly has a friction unit connected to the carrier, which rests on the at least one pendulum mass such that, with a relative movement of the pendulum mass in relation to the carrier, the friction unit applies a frictional torque on the pendulum mass counteracting the relative movement, wherein the friction unit extends over a peripheral section of less than 360°.
