High speed flywheel
The invention herein relates to a flywheel capable of high speed rotational operation in excess of 15,000 rpm, the flywheel comprising a composite rotor having a polymeric matrix in which are embedded fibers helically wound at an initial angle with respect to the axis of rotation of the rotor of from about 50° to about 80° and increasing in a stepwise or continuous manner to about 90°.
ELECTROSTATIC GENERATOR ELECTRODE-CENTERING AND SEISMIC-ISOLATION SYSTEM FOR FLYWHEEL-BASED ENERGY STORAGE MODULES
Robust electro-static (ES) device embodiments, with application to energy storage flywheels as an example, are described that provide reliable, high-efficiency operation in the presence of thermal and mechanical perturbations, as well as seismic events. Electro-static generators and motors, when augmented with magnetic bearings, passive three-dimensional stabilization techniques and dynamic touch-down bearings, enable robust performance in the face of these environmental concerns, as well as efficient operation during typical operational sequences, including spin-up and steady-state modalities.
Damper device
A damper device includes an input element to which a torque from an engine is transmitted, an output element, an elastic body arranged to transmit a torque between the input element and the output element, and a rotary inertia mass damper that includes a planetary gear that includes a sun gear arranged to rotate integrally with one element of the input element and the output element, a carrier that rotatably supports a plurality of pinion gears and is arranged to rotate integrally with the other element of the input element and the output element, and a ring gear that meshes with the plurality of pinion gears and works as a mass body. The other element includes two plate members that are opposed to each other and coupled with each other by means of a plurality of rivets disposed between the pinion gears.

POWER TRANSMISSION DEVICE
A power transmission device includes an inertia ring, a plate, a plurality of first bolts, a torque transmission member, and a plurality of second bolts. The inertia ring has an annular shape. The inertia ring includes a plurality of through holes. The plurality of through holes are disposed at intervals in a circumferential direction. The plate is disposed on a first side with respect to the inertia ring in an axial direction. The plurality of first bolts are screwed into the plurality of through holes from the first side to fasten the plate to the inertia ring. The torque transmission member is disposed on a second side with respect to the inertia ring in the axial direction. The plurality of second bolts are screwed into the plurality of through holes from the second side to fasten the torque transmission member to the inertia ring.
Portable device for precision plasma and oxy-fuel torch cutting
A portable device for precision plasma and oxy-fuel torch cutting is provided. Versions of an example portable cutting torch tool guide the gun of a cutting torch to make precision linear cuts or curved cuts in a metal workpiece. In an implementation, the device is a gun for a cutting torch, with an integrated rail follower and adjustable vertical and horizontal offsets from a workpiece. The cutting torch tool may use various kinds of rails for stable cuts, with optional movement damping, motorized drive, servos for vertical and horizontal offset, and remote control with user interface.

Flywheel lock
A universal flywheel locking device which is configured to fit flywheels with a variety of sizes and tooth patterns. The device may feature an arched locking member and two guide members attached to the sides of the locking member. The locking member is configured to wedge the device between a fixed feature or bolt and a flywheel so as to prevent rotation of the flywheel. The first end of the locking member may be configured to fit within a gap between two of a plurality of teeth of the flywheel so as to lock the flywheel.
