A damper includes a damper tube (a pressure tube or a reserve tube for a mono-tube or a double tube damper respectively) including a first end and a second end opposite to the first end. The damper includes a base member. The base member includes a cup portion at least partially enclosing the first end of the damper tube, and a sleeve portion extending from and integral with the cup portion. The sleeve portion surrounds a length of the damper tube. The sleeve portion is attached to the damper tube. Further, the damper includes a knuckle engaged with the sleeve portion such that the sleeve portion is disposed between the knuckle and the damper tube.

Vehicle suspension system

A vehicle suspension system comprising a hydropneumatic strut comprising a fluid interface, where supply of hydraulic fluid to the strut via the fluid interface causes the overall length of the strut to increase, and withdrawal of hydraulic fluid via the fluid interface causes the overall length of the strut to decrease, a first displacement system in fluid communication with the fluid interface, capable of supplying and withdrawing fluid to and from the strut as well as measuring the volume of fluid supplied or withdrawn from the strut, a second displacement system in fluid communication with the fluid interface, and a hydraulic fluid source for selectively supplying or withdrawing hydraulic fluid from the hydropneumatic strut via either of the first or second displacement systems.

Method and device for manufacturing a monotube shock absorber

A torque limiter includes a friction mechanism, a pressure plate, a first side plate, an urging member, and a second side plate. The friction mechanism includes a first friction member and a second friction member. The pressure plate includes a first contact surface and a plurality of first drainage grooves. The first contact surface is a surface that makes contact with the first friction member. The first drainage grooves radially extend. The second side plate includes a second contact surface that makes contact with the second friction member. The second side plate is disposed on a second side with respect to the second friction member in an axial direction. The second side plate is attached to the first side plate to be unitarily rotated therewith.

Pneumatically adjustable lifting apparatus

A pneumatically adjustable lifting apparatus utilizes inflatable spring devices for lifting and precisely positioning a load at a desired location. Variations in the forces produced by the load cause the inflatable spring devices to expand or compress thereby allowing soft mating between components that need to be connected together, such as assembling or disassembling large threaded connections. Pneumatic pressure in the inflatable spring devices may be adjusted depending upon the particular load. The pneumatically adjustable lifting apparatus provides lightly damped vertical travel with a substantially linear force profile over a relatively wide displacement range. Recirculating linear ball bearings cooperate with the linear loading characteristics of the inflatable spring devices to minimize the vertical motion damping of the pneumatically adjustable lifting apparatus.

GAS SPRING
20220325770 · 2022-10-13 ·

A gas spring comprising: a cup-shaped body; a movable piston which is inserted in an axially slidable manner in the cup-shaped body and is coupled to the cup-shaped body in a fluid-tight manner, so as to delimit a variable-volume closed chamber adapted to contain a pressurised gas; and a safety plug provided with a shank which extends in pass-through manner in the bottom wall of the cup-shaped body, and protrudes cantilevered within the cup-shaped body so that its distal end can be reached/struck by the movable piston in the case of overtravel; the distal end of the shank having a substantially tubular structure that directly communicates with the closed chamber.

Method of servicing an aircraft landing gear shock absorbing strut
11465777 · 2022-10-11 · ·

A method of servicing a shock absorber of an aircraft landing gear shock absorbing strut, the shock absorber including a sealed, variable volume chamber containing a liquid and a gas in fluid communication with one another, the method comprising: using a mixer to mix the liquid and the gas within the chamber until the liquid is uniformly saturated with the gas; and subsequently performing one or more servicing actions.

END MEMBER ASSEMBLIES AS WELL AS GAS SPRING ASSEMBLIES, SUSPENSION SYSTEMS AND METHODS INCLUDING SAME

An end member assembly can include a first end member section and a second end member section that together form an end member volume. A partition section is provided separately and is disposed within the end member volume to separate the end member volume into at least two volume portions. At least one passage extends through the partition section and at least one control device is disposed in fluid communication along the passage. The control device substantially fluidically isolates the two volume portions under conditions of use below a predetermined differential pressure threshold. The control device permits fluid communication between the two volume portions under conditions of use in which the predetermined pressure threshold is exceeded. Gas spring assemblies including such an end member assembly as well as suspension systems and methods of manufacture are also included.
