ADJUSTABLE ACCUMULATOR FOR SELECTIVELY MODIFYING SPRING RATE OF GAS SPRING SYSTEM
An accumulator defines an accumulator volume that can be placed into communication with a spring chamber of a gas spring. A working volume of the gas spring is the sum of the spring chamber volume and the accumulator volume. The accumulator can be configured so that the accumulator volume can be selectively increased or decreased as desired, thus modifying performance of the associated gas spring.
SYSTEMS FOR DAMPING A SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC ARRAY TRACKER
A solar tracker system includes a support tube, a solar panel assembly connected to the support tube, and an active lock connected to the support tube. The active lock includes a housing defining a chamber and a seal. The seal prevents a flow of fluid through the chamber when the active lock is in a sealed state and allows the flow of fluid through the chamber when the active lock is in an unsealed state. The active lock further includes a locking system motor connected to the seal to transition the active lock between the sealed state and the unsealed state, a battery providing power to the locking system motor, and an antenna for receiving instructions controlling the locking system motor.
SPACE SAVING PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES FOR SUSPENSION DAMPERS
A damper with inner and outer tubes, a piston rod extending between first and second piston rod ends, and a piston mounted to the second piston rod end. The piston is disposed within the pressure tube to define rebound and compression chambers. A fluid transport chamber is positioned between the inner and outer tubes and an intake valve assembly, abutting one end of the pressure tube inside the outer tube, and defines at least one intermediate chamber that is arranged in fluid communication with at least one externally mounted, electro-mechanical control valve. A rebound chamber pressure relief valve, mounted inside the piston and piston rod end, releases excess fluid pressure in the rebound chamber. A compression chamber pressure relief valve, mounted inside the intake valve assembly, releases excess fluid pressure in the compression chamber.
Vibration damper and motor vehicle
The invention relates to a vibration damper for a motor vehicle comprising an inner tube, an outer tube and at least one compensating chamber, which is formed between the inner tube and the outer tube and comprises at least one gas bag, which is arranged in the compensating chamber, wherein the compensating chamber is fluidically connected to at least one working area of the inner tube filled with a hydraulic fluid, wherein at least one guide element is provided, which deflects a flow of the hydraulic fluid during a rebound stage or a compression stage in such a way that the gas bag is indirectly subjected to flow. Furthermore, the invention relates to a motor vehicle.
Hydraulic shock absorber
A hydraulic shock absorber including a housing and an absorber unit. The absorber unit is movable relative to the housing in the axis direction of an absorber unit middle axis A-A and includes a piston which is arranged on a piston rod and which subdivides the housing into a first and a second working space which is filled with damping fluid.
Hydraulic bump stop assembly
Embodiments of a hydraulic bump stop assembly may include a telescoping hydraulic cylinder containing hydraulic fluid. The telescoping cylinder may be located on a vehicle shock. Components of the shock may engage and compress the telescoping cylinder during the final stages of compression of the shock to prevent the shock from bottoming out. The telescoping cylinder has damping properties during compression and expansion due to hydraulic fluid being forced through orifices of one or more hydraulic fluid lines to and from a reservoir. Damping ratios may be adjusted by adjusting the size of the orifices. In some embodiments, the damping ratios may be adjusted remotely, such as from the driver compartment of the vehicle.
Suspension strut
A suspension strut for a vehicle comprises: a first connector for connecting to a first point on the vehicle; a second connector for connecting to a second point on the vehicle; and a damper assembly adapted to provide a damping force as fluid flows through the damper assembly during relative compression between the first point and the second point, wherein the damper assembly comprises a side wall and a damper aperture in the side wall, wherein the damper aperture is open throughout operation of the strut to allow fluid to flow through the damper assembly.
Systems for damping a solar photovoltaic array tracker
A solar tracker system includes a torque tube, a solar panel assembly attached to the torque tube, a housing defining a chamber and a fluid passageway extending from the chamber, and an active lock connected to a seal configured to prevent a flow path of fluid while in a sealed state and allow the flow path of fluid in an unsealed state. The system further includes a controller in communication with the torque tube and the active lock. The controller is programmed to receive a command to place the solar panel assembly in a stowed position, instruct the torque tube to rotate the panel assembly to a stowed angle corresponding to the stowed position, monitor a current angle of the panel assembly, compare the current angle to the stowed angle, and instruct the seal to transition to the sealed state when the current angle is equal to the stowed angle.
