ARRANGEMENT FOR REDUCING OSCILLATION
An arrangement reduces oscillation of an oscillatory structure. The arrangement has: a structure having at least one mode in at least one direction; and an oscillation-reducing device. The oscillation-reducing device includes a housing on the structure; a cavity; and a body. The body is configured to make impact contact with a first surface portion and a second surface portion of an inner wall of the housing and disposed is in the cavity such that the body can make impact contact with the first surface portion and the second surface portion of the inner wall of the housing at least temporarily for as long as the structure is excited in the at least one mode in the at least one direction. The first surface portion or the second surface portion of the inner wall of the housing has a curved profile.
Method and apparatus of providing energy absorption for vibration dampening in one or more planes
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for energy absorption and vibrational dampening when attached to a vertical or horizontal structure. According to a first preferred embodiment, the present invention includes a closed housing which may preferably include an internal, curved surface. According to a further preferred embodiment, the present invention may include at least one dampening weight or sphere which may preferably be disposed within the closed housing. According to a further preferred embodiment, the dampening sphere may include internal baffling such as particles having resistance to the flow of the particles within the closed housing.
Suspension damper with fluid contaminant protection
A suspension damper for washing machines includes a control rod that is configured to attach a fixed bracket of a washing machine cabinet and a first cap having an aperture through which the control rod slidingly extends. The first cap is configured to engage a concave portion of a bracket on a drum of the washing machine. A second cap is disposed on the control rod, and a spring is disposed between the first cap and the second cap. The first cap includes at least one water passageway for guiding water along an outer surface of the first cap. An umbrella may be disposed on the control rod to shed water outwardly away from the control rod.
GAS PRESSURE SPRING WITH OVERPRESSURE PROTECTION, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE GAS PRESSURE SPRING
A gas pressure spring is provided including a pressure tube and a fluid with a fluid pressure enclosed by the pressure tube in a fluid-tight manner in an operating state of the gas pressure spring. A wall of the pressure tube has a local taper, the taper forming a predetermined breaking point of the wall adapted to open to release a portion of the fluid from the pressure tube in a controlled manner when the fluid pressure exceeds a limit pressure. A wall thickness of the wall has a line-shaped minimum within the taper, the wall thickness increasing monotonically from the minimum to an edge of the taper in all circumferential directions around a longitudinal axis of the pressure tube. Also provided is a method of manufacturing the gas pressure spring.
Laundry treatment device
The present invention relates to a laundry treating apparatus. The laundry treating apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a control unit which controls the tub to rotate at a first speed in a case of a blanket dehydration mode, to rotate at a second speed lower than the first speed so that the plurality of balls are dispersed when amount of eccentricity in the first speed rotation is equal to or greater than a first reference value, and to rotate at a third speed higher than the first speed when the amount of eccentricity in the first speed rotation is less than the first reference value. Accordingly, in a blanket dehydration mode, it is possible to stably perform dehydration by preventing the plurality of balls from operating unbalanced.
ELASTOMERIC BEARING FOR A SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY
An elastomeric bearing includes an inner member that has a spherical exterior surface and is symmetric about a central axis and a hollow annular outer structure that is axially split thereby forming a first outer segment and a second outer segment. The first outer segment and second outer segment form a substantially cylindrical exterior surface. One or more shim structures are formed around the inner member and are disposed at least partially inside the hollow annular outer structure. The shim structure has a radially outward facing surface and a radially inward facing surface. One or more layers of elastomeric material are disposed on each of the radially outward facing surface and the radially inward facing surface.
SHOCK ABSORBING CONTAINER AND VIBRATION ISOLATOR SYSTEM
A container system including an outer shell, a deck disposed within the outer shell and configured to support cargo, and at least one vibration isolator member to support the deck within the outer shell and reduce or dampen a transfer of shock or vibration to the deck. Each vibration isolator member includes a hollow, flexible body configured to resiliently compress in response to a force. At least one fastener interface secures the flexible body to the bottom wall or to the deck. The hollow, flexible body has one or more apertures to allow fluid flow into and out of an inner cavity of the flexible body during compression or expansion.
