COMPENSATOR DEVICE
A compensator device includes a hydraulic cylinder with a first end, a second end and an inner cylinder rod extending axially from the second end; and a piston rod with a piston movable axially within the cylinder. The inner cylinder rod has an end with a blocking diameter. The piston rod is generally hollow and includes a cavity to receive the blocking diameter of the inner cylinder rod.
SPACE SAVING PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES FOR SUSPENSION DAMPERS
A damper with inner and outer tubes, a piston rod extending between first and second piston rod ends, and a piston mounted to the second piston rod end. The piston is disposed within the pressure tube to define rebound and compression chambers. A fluid transport chamber is positioned between the inner and outer tubes and an intake valve assembly, abutting one end of the pressure tube inside the outer tube, and defines at least one intermediate chamber that is arranged in fluid communication with at least one externally mounted, electro-mechanical control valve. A rebound chamber pressure relief valve, mounted inside the piston and piston rod end, releases excess fluid pressure in the rebound chamber. A compression chamber pressure relief valve, mounted inside the intake valve assembly, releases excess fluid pressure in the compression chamber.
Base member for a damper
A damper includes a damper tube (a pressure tube or a reserve tube for a mono-tube or a double tube damper respectively) including a first end and a second end opposite to the first end. The damper includes a base member. The base member includes a cup portion at least partially enclosing the first end of the damper tube, and a sleeve portion extending from and integral with the cup portion. The sleeve portion surrounds a length of the damper tube. The sleeve portion is attached to the damper tube. Further, the damper includes a knuckle engaged with the sleeve portion such that the sleeve portion is disposed between the knuckle and the damper tube.
Intake device for a damper having a side collector
A damper with inner and outer tubes and a piston disposed within the inner tube to define first and second working chambers. A fluid transport chamber is positioned between the inner and outer tubes. A collector chamber is positioned outside the outer tube. An intake valve assembly, abutting one end of the inner tube, is positioned inside the outer tube to define a first intermediate chamber that is arranged in fluid communication with the collector chamber. The intake valve assembly includes a central passage that is arranged in fluid communication with the second working chamber and one or more intake valves that control fluid flow through the intake valve assembly between the first intermediate chamber and the central passage and between the first intermediate chamber and the fluid transport chamber.
GAS SPRING
A gas spring comprising: a cup-shaped body; a movable piston which is inserted in an axially slidable manner in the cup-shaped body and is coupled to the cup-shaped body in a fluid-tight manner, so as to delimit a variable-volume closed chamber adapted to contain a pressurised gas; and a safety plug provided with a shank which extends in pass-through manner in the bottom wall of the cup-shaped body, and protrudes cantilevered within the cup-shaped body so that its distal end can be reached/struck by the movable piston in the case of overtravel; the distal end of the shank having a substantially tubular structure that directly communicates with the closed chamber.
AIR SPRING FOR CAB OF HEAVY TRUCK WITH AUTOMATIC HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
An air spring for a cab of a heavy truck with automatic height adjustment, in which the air spring is provided between the cab and a frame of a truck and supports the cab with a pressure of air filling in the air spring, includes a canister in which an internal space is formed, and a piston movably mounted in the internal space of the canister and configured to ascend and descend relative to the canister. A port opening unit is provided adjacent to an intake port and an exhaust port of the piston, respectively. When the cab ascends or descends, each of the port opening units comes into contact with guides, each having an inclined surface, formed in the canister to open either the intake port or the exhaust port.
Method of servicing an aircraft landing gear shock absorbing strut
A method of servicing a shock absorber of an aircraft landing gear shock absorbing strut, the shock absorber including a sealed, variable volume chamber containing a liquid and a gas in fluid communication with one another, the method comprising: using a mixer to mix the liquid and the gas within the chamber until the liquid is uniformly saturated with the gas; and subsequently performing one or more servicing actions.
Suspension including coil spring and ambient air cushion
A front fork of a bicycle may include a suspension system that includes a damper. The damper may include a hollow tube with orifices that may be partially blocked by an adjustable blocker. A free end of the adjuster that adjusts the blocker may maintain its axial position in any rotational position. Ambient air may be introduced through a valve and retained in the suspension system. The suspension may include a mechanical spring in a chamber away from the valve that introduces the ambient air.
Shock absorber and shock absorber assembly
A shock absorber for a wheel suspension of a vehicle may include an outer cylinder, an outer piston that is axially displaceably guided in the outer cylinder, an inner piston that is axially displaceably guided in the outer piston, and a piston rod that is connected to the inner piston and that is guided out of the outer piston. A surface, which is located remote from the piston rod, of a piston portion of the outer piston, which is axially displaceably guided on an inner lateral surface of the outer cylinder, is connected so as to communicate partially with surroundings of the shock absorber.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AN ADJUSTABLE DAMPER
An air bleed system for a suspension fork or shock absorber includes: a fluid passage between an interior of the suspension and an exterior of the suspension; and a manually operable valve having a first position substantially closing the fluid passage and a second position allowing fluid flow between the interior and the exterior.
