ELECTRICAL CONTROLLER FOR FORCE DAMPERS
Described in certain example embodiments herein is an electrical controller for a damper body assembly that stores a damping policy and instructions implementing a control method based on the policy. In certain embodiments, the controller receives a sensor output and transmits a signal to alter the contribution to a damping coefficient of the damper from each fluid mass as a function of the sensor output, policy, and control method. Described in several exemplary embodiments herein, are methods of using the electrical controller. Also described in several exemplary embodiments herein are damper body assemblies that can be controlled by the electrical controller, an actuation assembly, and methods of using the same.
SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
A suspension system of an associated vehicle. The suspension system comprises an outer reservoir tube extending along an axis between a first end and a second end and defining a chamber. A piston assembly is at least partially located in the chamber. The piston assembly includes a piston rod and a piston head. A solenoid assembly is connected to the piston rod. The solenoid assembly comprises a core including a core head and a core body. A spool extends about the core body and defines a space. A coil is wrapped around the spool within the space. An induction plate is at least partially located between the spool and the core head. As the input current is modulated the induction plate promotes the induction of eddy currents opposing the field induction attenuating the force ripples of the magnetic field buildup and decay.
SHOCK STIFFENER SYSTEM
Provided is an on-demand shock stiffening system. The on-demand shock stiffening system operates to immediately stiffen the shocks in response to a user activating the system. The system may include a main body with an oil flow aperture and a flow control system that operates to restrict the flow of oil between the reservoir and the shock. The on-demand shock stiffening system may be coupled between the reservoir and the bridge of the shock and operates to restrict flow of the oil in order to stiffen the shock immediately in an on-demand manner.
DAMPER WITH INTEGRATED ELECTRONICS
A bumper cap assembly for an electrically adjustable hydraulic shock absorber. The bumper cap assembly includes a printed circuit board assembly and a bumper cap. The printed circuit board assembly includes power drive electronics and is electrically coupled to the shock absorber. The bumper cap defined a gap, wherein the printed circuit board assembly is housed within the gap.
Damper with solenoid in piston rod
A shock absorber includes: a pressure tube defining a working chamber; a piston assembly slidably disposed within the pressure tube, the piston assembly dividing the working chamber into a first and second chambers; a piston rod including a first end that is attached to the piston assembly and that includes a second end that is configured to be attached to one of a sprung mass and an unsprung mass of a vehicle; an electronic valve that is positioned within the piston rod, the electronic valve including a spool moveable between first and second positions, where: when the spool of the electronic valve is in the first position, the spool allows fluid flow between the first and second chambers through the electronic valve and the piston rod; and when the spool of the electronic valve is in the second position, the spool restricts fluid flow between the first and second chambers.
ACTIVE CONTROL TYPE ANTI-YAW DAMPER, DAMPING SYSTEM AND VEHICLE
An active control anti-yaw damper (100) is provided. When a piston (2) of the active control anti-yaw damper (100) reciprocates inside a hydraulic cylinder (1), an interior of the hydraulic cylinder (1) is divided into two cylinder blocks (PA, PB) which communicate with an oil reservoir through two main oil lines respectively to form a primary loop between the hydraulic cylinder (1) and the oil reservoir; a reversing valve (PV3) is installed between the two main oil lines and the oil reservoir and is configured to change a flow direction of the primary loop when the active control anti-yaw damper (100) is in an active mode and adjust a displacement of the piston (2) within the hydraulic cylinder (1).
Protective cover for electrical coupler of vehicle shock absorber and vehicle shock absorber including same
A shock absorber for damping movement of a wheel suspension system of a vehicle can include a damper tube, a piston, a damping adjustment assembly, and a protective cover. The damper tube can contain a fluid. The piston can be located in the damper tube so as to accommodate relative movement between the damper tube and the piston. The damping adjustment assembly can be connected to the damper tube, and can include a reservoir, a solenoid valve, and a wire harness connection. The solenoid valve can be in fluid communication with each of the reservoir and the damper tube and configured to selectively open and close fluid communication between the reservoir and the damper tube. The wire harness connection can be in electrical communication with the solenoid valve. The protective cover can contain the wire harness connection.
SHOCK ABSORBER
A mounting eye (21) is fastened to a rod by pushing, partially or over an entire periphery, an outer periphery of a joint portion of a mounting eye into an annular groove of the rod. Accordingly, an axial length of a fastening portion can be set shorter than that of a related-art structure (screw fastening), thereby being capable of securing a stroke of the rod of a shock absorber in which the mounting eye is fastened to the rod.
SOLENOID, SOLENOID VALVE, SHOCK ABSORBER, AND METHOD FORMANUFACTURING A SOLENOID
A solenoid includes a coil bobbin, a coil, a terminal, a housing, an armature, an actuation pin, and the like. The coil bobbin includes a tubular portion, and a first flange portion formed on one end of the tubular portion and extending radially to outside the tubular portion. The coil is wound around the coil bobbin. The terminal connects a terminal conductor portion of the coil and a cable. The terminal includes a joint portion that joins the terminal conductor portion of the coil. The joint portion extends in a direction along one end surface of the first flange portion.
