METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING A SYNTHETIC TENSILE MEMBER WITH A PRECISE LENGTH AND ENHANCED STABILITY
20230002969 · 2023-01-05 ·

A method for producing a synthetic tensile member having a precisely known and stable length. The invention also comprises equipment configured to carry out the method. A tensile member is prepared by attaching terminations to an assembly of synthetic filaments. The tensile member is then attached to a loading apparatus that subjects the tensile member to a pre-defined loading process. The tensile member is thereby conditioned to a stable length. The length is then measured and a length adjusting component is incorporated into the tensile member to create a precise and stabilized length that is configured for the tensile member's particular application.

Cable securing device

A cable securing device facilitates secure connection to a cabling end, and employs a retaining cap, a barrel and a cable receiving component. The cable receiving component can include a spacer gland, a fastening ring and a retaining jaw, or a subset thereof, and the elements of the cable receiving component may either be joined together as individual elements or provided as an integrated cartridge.

MECHANICAL CONNECTION DEVICE, DESIGNED FOR THE REMOVABLE MECHANICAL CONNECTION OF THE FREE ENDS OF TWO OFFSHORE LINES
20230219657 · 2023-07-13 ·

Disclosed is a mechanical connection device designed for the detachable mechanical connection of the free ends of two offshore lines, advantageously a mooring line and a messenger line. The mechanical connection device includes two modules that are attached to a free end of the offshore lines. The mechanical connection device includes a locking unit that includes an operating member, to operate the locking unit from a locked configuration to an unlocked configuration. The operating member is movable between two positions with a translational degree of freedom parallel to the longitudinal axis of the modules in the assembled state, preferably in a downstream to upstream direction.

Wire attachment

A swaged fitting can be fixed to a wire rope while simultaneously providing a desired shape and size, thereby avoiding the need for subsequent material removal. In one application, the swaged fitting is fixed to the wire rope by a forging operation such that the fitting is securely fixed provides a straight-sided construct once fixed to the wire rope. After the forging operation and without further material removal, the straight sides of the finished fitting are generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the wire rope, while the end surfaces of the fitting are generally perpendicular to this longitudinal axis. This arrangement provides a strong and effective force-transfer interface for, e.g., end-effectors in medical devices.

SELF-LOCKING CABLE SECURING DEVICE, ASSEMBLY AND METHOD

A self-locking securing device facilitates secure connection to cable or elongated object ends, and employs a retaining jaw, a barrel, a spacer and a sleeve. In various embodiments, the retaining jaw and spacer are formed as part or all of a replaceable cartridge and can include a fastening ring therebetween.
