Differential planetary gearbox
A torque transfer device has plural planets arranged for planetary rotation about one or more sun gears and within one or more ring gears. Each planet includes at least one planetary gear set comprising plural planetary gears connected to rotate together, but having a different diameter to form a differential gear system. To improve load sharing, the plural planetary gears of each planetary gear set may have a different helical angle, the plural planetary gear sets being axially movable with respect to one another. Alternatively or in addition, the planetary gears may be made flexible with respect to radial forces.

A turbomachine engine includes a fan assembly and a core engine comprising a turbine and an input shaft rotatable with the turbine is provided. A single-stage epicyclic gear assembly receives the input shaft at a first speed and drives an output shaft coupled to the fan assembly at a second speed. A sun gear rotates about a longitudinal centerline of the gear assembly and has a sun gear-mesh region along the longitudinal centerline of the gear assembly where the sun gear is configured to contact a plurality of planet gears. A ring gear-mesh region is provided along the longitudinal centerline of the gear assembly where a ring gear is configured to contact the plurality of planet gears. The sun gear-mesh region is axially offset from the ring gear-mesh region along the longitudinal centerline.
TURBOMACHINES AND EPICYCLIC GEAR ASSEMBLIES WITH LUBRICATION CHANNELS
A gear assembly for use with a turbomachine comprises a sun gear, a plurality of planet gear layshafts that each support a first stage planet gear and a second stage planet gear, and a ring gear. The sun gear is configured to rotate about a longitudinal centerline of the gear assembly, and the plurality of planet gear layshafts comprise an interior passage that receives one or more lubrication supply lines.
Mechanical gearbox for aircraft turbomachine
A mechanical gearbox for an aircraft turbomachine includes a sun gear having an axis (X) of rotation, a ring gear around the sun gear, and planet gears meshed with the sun gear and the ring gear. Each planet gear has a first toothing meshed with the sun gear and a second loathing meshed with the ring gear. The first toothing includes a series of upstream teeth and a series of downstream teeth located on either side of a plane (H) perpendicular to the axis (X) of rotation of the sun gear. The second toothing includes a series of upstream teeth and a series of downstream teeth located on either side of the plane (H) and separated from one another by the first toothing, these teeth being parallel to one another and to the axis (Y) of rotation of the planet gear.
Mechanical reduction gear for aircraft turbomachine
A mechanical reduction gear for turbomachine, in particular for aircraft. The reduction gear includes a sun gear having an axis of rotation, a ring gear which extends around the sun gear, planet gears which are meshed with the sun gear and the ring gear and which each includes a first toothing and a second toothing each including two series of teeth located on either side of a median plane, each of the planet gears being centred and guided in rotation by bearings, including an upstream bearing interposed axially between the series of upstream teeth of the second toothing and the plane, and a downstream bearing interposed axially between the series of downstream teeth of the second toothing and the plane.
GAS TURBINE ENGINE WITH STAGGERED EPICYCLIC GEARBOX
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the figures, where a gas turbine engine for an aircraft includes: an engine core including a turbine, a compressor, and a core shaft connecting the turbine to the compressor; a fan including a plurality of fan blades; and a gearbox that receives an input from the core shaft and outputs drive to the fan so as to drive the fan about a rotational axis at a lower rotational speed than the core shaft, wherein the gearbox is an epicyclic gearbox with a plurality of planet gears arranged in first and second sets of planet gears, the planet gears of the first set being positioned displaced relative to the planet gears of the second set in a direction parallel to the rotational axis.
Gear systems
The present disclosure relates to gear systems. In at least one embodiment, a gear system includes a first shaft disposed through an orifice of a first gear. The first gear has a first surface and a second surface disposed opposite the first surface, and the second surface has a plurality of teeth. The gear system includes a second gear having a first surface and a second surface disposed opposite the first surface, and the first surface has a plurality of teeth. The gear system has a carrier connected to the first shaft at the first surface of the carrier. The gear system has a plurality of planetary gears connected to the carrier. The gear system includes a bracket connected to the first gear at the first end of the bracket. The first shaft and the second shaft rotate on an axis.
Planetary gearbox for gas turbine engine
In one aspect, there is provided a planetary gearbox, comprising a sun gear, a plurality of planet gear assemblies, each planet gear assembly having a main gear meshed with the sun gear, a fore lateral gear and an aft lateral gear disposed on opposite sides of the main gear and rotating therewith, a diameter of the main gear being different than a diameter of the fore and aft lateral gears, a planet carrier rotatably supporting at least some of the planet gear assemblies, and at least one fore ring gear meshed with the fore lateral gears, at least one aft ring gear meshed with the aft lateral gears, wherein one of the sun gear, the planet carrier, and the ring gears is configured to be operatively connected to an input, one is configured to be operatively connected to an output, and rotation of a remaining one is limited.
Gearbox and driving device using the same
A gearbox includes a sun gear, a plurality of planetary gears meshed with the sun gear, a rotating frame supporting the planetary gears, and a housing with an internal ring gear meshed with the planetary gears. The planetary gears include a first gear and a second gear coaxially connected to each other along an axial direction and rotating synchronously, the first gear meshed with the sun gear, and the second gear meshed with the internal ring gear of the housing. The rotating frame received in the housing has an upper frame and a lower frame with a central hole, each of the plurality of planetary gears is arranged between the upper frame and the lower frame by a mounting pin, the lower frame is supported by a flange connected to the housing, the sun gear is driven to rotate so as to operate the rotating frame. The gearbox of the present disclosure has low vibration and low noise.
