ACTUATION OF A CONVERTER LOCK-UP CLUTCH OF A HYDRODYNAMIC TORQUE CONVERTER BY MEANS OF A SAFETY FUNCTION
The invention relates to the actuation of a converter lock-up clutch (44) of a hydrodynamic torque converter (4) in a vehicle drive-train by means of a safety function where, in addition to a driving strategy function, the safety function can actuate the converter lock-up clutch (44) by issuing a clutch actuation command. For this purpose, at least one rotation speed at the torque converter (4) is monitored. If the monitored rotation speed is below a rotation speed threshold, the safety function commands an actuation of the converter lock-up clutch (44) in its opening direction.
APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING GEAR SHIFT OF VEHICLE AND METHOD THEREOF
An apparatus of controlling a gear shifting of a vehicle, and a method thereof, to improving shift quality by minimizing the jerk generated in a shifting process of the vehicle, includes storage that stores a Gaussian process (GP) model on which machine learning is completed, and a controller that detects a change amount of engine torque and a change amount of an engagement-side clutch torque based on the GP model, and controls the gear shifting of the vehicle according to the change amount of the engine torque and the change amount of the engagement-side clutch torque.
Method of transmission control in order to protect clutches from damage
A system includes a driveline, a user interface, and a control system. The driveline includes an engine, a transmission, and a clutch positioned to selectively couple the engine to the transmission. The user interface is configured to facilitate operator shifting of the transmission. The control system is configured to perform a transmission auto-shift procedure where the control system monitors engine speed of the engine for a period of time following completion of a downshift event with the transmission from a first, higher gear to a second, lower gear, compares the engine speed to at least one speed threshold, and automatically upshifts the transmission from the second, lower gear back to the first, higher gear (i) following expiration of the period of time and/or (ii) in response to the engine speed exceeding the at least one speed threshold during the period of time.
Slip control method and arrangement for a drivetrain architecture including a continuously variable transmission
A slip control method and arrangement for a drivetrain including a continuously variable transmission, forward-reverse clutch arrangement and an optional three-speed gearbox is described herein. The forward-reverse clutch arrangement includes a clutch that is so controlled as to slip when a torque higher than the usable torque attempts to pass through. Accordingly, the clutch prevents the prime mover from stalling.
Method system for control of gear selection in vehicles
A method of controlling gear selection in a vehicle transmission comprises detecting a change in a direction control signal (DCS) from a neutral signal state. If the current TOS is less than or equal to a predetermined neutral shift threshold TOS, the transmission selects one of a plurality of first direction gears if the DCS was changed to a first direction signal state or one of a plurality of second direction gears if the DCS was changed to a second direction signal state. If the current TOS is greater than the predetermined neutral shift threshold TOS, the transmission selects one of the plurality of first direction gears if a machine motion direction parameter indicates that the vehicle is moving in the first direction or one of the plurality of second direction gears if the machine motion direction parameter indicates that the vehicle is moving in the second direction.
HYDRAULIC STATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
A HST system for use in traveling of a vehicle includes a controller that controls a pump regulator that changes a displacement of a pump and a motor regulator that changes a displacement of a motor. The controller determines whether or not a particular downhill travel condition is satisfied based on a result of detection by a vehicle speed detector that detects a vehicle speed of the vehicle and a result of detection by a rotation number detector that detects a number of rotations of an engine per unit time. In a case where a depression amount of an accelerator pedal, which is detected by a depression amount detector, is zero and the particular downhill travel condition is satisfied, the controller controls the motor regulator to increase the displacement of the motor.
Method and Device for Controlling State Switching of Fluid Torque Converter, Vehicle and Storage Medium
Disclosed are a method and device for controlling the state switching of a fluid torque converter, a vehicle and a storage medium, the method including: obtaining a target instruction when the torque converter of the vehicle is in a locked state, the target instruction triggering a change in the torque transmission direction of a transmission system of the vehicle; obtaining a state parameter, and determining whether the current vehicle is in a target operating condition according to the state parameter; and if the current vehicle is in the target operating condition, switching the fluid torque converter to an open state, and switching the torque converter back to the locked state after maintaining the open state for a preset period of time.
Methods and systems for a transmission shift assembly
Various methods and systems are provided for a shift assembly for a vehicle transmission. In one example, a shift assembly for a transmission includes a first barrel cam including a first cam track; a second barrel cam arranged coaxially with the first barrel cam and including a second cam track; a first motor configured to drive the first barrel cam independent of the second barrel cam; and a second motor configured to drive the second barrel cam independent of the first barrel cam.
Quickshifter-equipped vehicle control unit and quickshifter-equipped motorcycle
A quickshifter-equipped vehicle control unit includes an engine speed calculator configured to calculate an engine speed and a shift controller configured to operate in a quick shift mode and in a normal shift mode. The quick shift mode is a mode in which upon detection of the shift operation, the shift controller adjusts an output of an engine while keeping a main clutch in an engaged state, and the normal shift mode is a mode in which upon detection of the shift operation, the shift controller controls a clutch actuator to bring the main clutch into a disengaged state. The shift controller selects the quick shift mode when the engine speed is higher than a predetermined rotational speed threshold, and selects the normal shift mode when the engine speed is lower than the rotational speed threshold.
