VEHICLE TRANSMISSION
Disclosed is a vehicle transmission capable of improving fuel economy and performance of a vehicle with an increased number of gear stages. The vehicle transmission includes three simple planetary gear sets and one compound planetary gear set or includes five simple planetary gear sets. A shifting operation is performed by changing speed and direction of rotation of gears in a manner of selectively connecting and disconnecting rotary elements of the gear sets and a plurality of friction members. The vehicle transmission provides ten or more forward speed ratios and one or more reverse speed ratios through this shifting operation.
MULTI-STAGE TRANSMISSION
A multi-stage transmission is disclosed. The multi-stage transmission includes: two simple planetary gear sets, each including three rotary elements; one compound planetary gear set including four rotary elements; and six shifting elements. Since ten forward shifting stages and one reverse shifting stage can be accomplished with a relatively small number of parts, a simple construction and a low weight, the multi-stage transmission provides a further improved speed ratio for the driving conditions of the vehicle, thereby improving the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
WIDE-NODE DRIVE SYSTEM
An electro-mechanical drive unit connectable with first and second motor/generators includes an output member, a stationary member, a gear-train, and a torque-transmitting device. The drive unit also includes a compound planetary gear arrangement having a ring gear structure, first and second sun gears, and a carrier structure. The gear arrangement includes first, second, third, and fourth junction points and has a double-pinion assembly having a first pinion gear in mesh with the first sun gear member and a second pinion gear in mesh with the first pinion gear and with the ring gear structure. The gear arrangement is operatively connected to the second motor/generator at the first junction point via the gear-train and to the first motor/generator at the fourth junction point. The output member is operatively connected to the second junction point. Furthermore, the torque-transmitting device is engageable to ground the third junction point to the stationary member.
Transmission, hybrid drive train, and drive train for an electric vehicle
A transmission includes a main gear set, an auxiliary gear set and an electric motor with a rotor and a stator. A third shaft of the main gear set is connected to a transmission output shaft. A second shaft of the auxiliary gear set is connectable through a first auxiliary shift element to a first shaft of the main gear set and through a second auxiliary shift element to the third shaft of the main gear set or to a fourth shaft of the main gear set. A third shaft of the auxiliary gear set is constantly connected to a second shaft of the main gear set. A first shaft of the auxiliary gear set is constantly connected to the rotor.
Two-piece sintered metal ravigneaux carrier
A Ravigneaux planetary carrier assembly is provided for accommodating pinion gears of an automatic transmission. The carrier assembly comprises a powder metal carrier member including a carrier plate having a plurality of integral carrier legs extending therefrom, and a powder metal cover member including a cover plate having a plurality of integral cover legs extending therefrom. The carrier assembly is arranged such that respective ends of the carrier legs and ends of the cover legs are aligned with and brazed to one another, defining an interior of the carrier assembly configured to house the pinion gears.
TWO-PIECE SINTERED METAL RAVIGNEAUX CARRIER
A Ravigneaux planetary carrier assembly is provided for accommodating pinion gears of an automatic transmission. The carrier assembly comprises a powder metal carrier member including a carrier plate having a plurality of integral carrier legs extending therefrom, and a powder metal cover member including a cover plate having a plurality of integral cover legs extending therefrom. The carrier assembly is arranged such that respective ends of the carrier legs and ends of the cover legs are aligned with and brazed to one another, defining an interior of the carrier assembly configured to house the pinion gears.
CONTROL DEVICE OF VEHICLE
A vehicle control device including a multi-speed transmission switching gear shift positions in accordance with a combination of hydraulic friction engagement devices operations and pressure control solenoid valves, the control device shifting gears by providing a shift output signal including a quick-apply signal to the valves after a first time from a shift request, the control device has: a pulsation drive control portion to control selectively pulsating the pressure control solenoid valves in a cycle; and a quick-apply control prohibiting portion to prohibit a provision of a quick-apply control using the quick-apply signal for a second time from a time of termination of the pulsation drive control, and to permit the provision of the quick-apply control after the elapse of the second time, for a valve having undergone the control, the pulsation drive control portion to terminate the control for a valve when the shift request is made.

A power transmission device including a transmission, a case housing the transmission, a brake including a plurality of frictional engaging plates and a piston for pressing the frictional engaging plates and configured to non-rotatably hold any one of rotation elements of the transmission stationary to the case, and a support fixed to the case and including a ring-shaped wall portion extending in a radial direction of the transmission, a drum portion extending from the ring-shaped wall portion in an axial direction of the transmission and non-rotatably supporting a part of the frictional engaging plates, and a boss portion extending from the ring-shaped wall portion toward a side opposite to the frictional engaging plates in the axial direction and rotatably supporting another rotation element of the power transmission device.
