A method for controlling a vehicle including a continuously variable transmission includes determining, by a controller, whether a speed difference between a speed of a vehicle according to revolutions per minute (RPM) of a driving wheel of the vehicle and a speed of the vehicle according to revolutions per minute (RPM) of a towed wheel of the vehicle is equal to or greater than a speed reference value and reducing, by the controller, torque of an engine providing a driving force to a driving pulley of the continuously variable transmission when the difference in vehicle speed is equal to or greater than the speed reference value.

OIL PRESSURE SUPPLY DEVICE

An oil pressure supply device supplies, to an oil chamber, an oil pressure generated by suctioning oil from an oil source with an oil pump. The oil pressure supply device includes a first oil passage connected to a suction side of the oil pump; a first check valve provided in the first oil passage and configured to close the first oil passage and prevent oil from moving to the oil source side when the oil pump is stopped; a second oil passage connected to a discharge side of the oil pump; and a second check valve provided in the second oil passage and configured to close the second oil passage and prevent oil from moving to the oil pump side when the oil pump is stopped. When the oil pump is stopped, the second check valve closes the second oil passage earlier than the first check valve closes the first oil passage.

Fluid system for a continuously variable transmission

A fluid system for a continuously variable transmission includes a first pump, a first actuation unit, a first line section, a second actuation unit, and a second line section. The first pump has a first sub-pump and a second sub-pump. The first actuation unit is assigned to a first disc set of the continuously variable transmission and the second actuation unit is assigned to a second disc set of the continuously variable transmission. The first line section fluidically connects the first pump to the first actuation unit and the second line section fluidically connects the first pump to the second actuation unit. The second sub-pump has a first connection that can be selectively fluidically connected to the first actuation unit via the first line section, or the second sub-pump has a second connection that can be selectively fluidically connected to the second actuation unit via the second line section.

DOUBLE CLUTCH REVERSE AND ACTIVE TORQUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A double clutch reverse and active torque management system is provided. A forward variable torque limiting clutch selectively couples torque between a driven sheave of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and at least one drive axle of a vehicle when the vehicle is traveling in a forward direction. The forward variable torque limiting clutch is set to transmit less torque than can be transmitted through each of the drive sheave and the driven sheave of the CVT. A reverse variable torque limiting clutch selectively couples torque between the driven sheave and the at least one drive axle of the vehicle when the vehicle is traveling in a reverse direction. The reverse variable torque limiting clutch is set to transmit less torque than can be transmitted through each of the drive sheave and driven sheave of the CVT, wherein any slip caused by excessive torque occurs at one of the forward variable torque limiting clutch and the reverse variable torque limiting clutch.

Continuously variable transmission and control method for continuously variable transmission

A continuously variable transmission includes a primary pulley, a secondary pulley, a metal belt and a controller. The metal ring includes a ring and a plurality of elements bundled by the ring. The elements have respective receiving portions opening in a radial direction of the metal belt and receive the ring in the receiving portions. Assuming a direction perpendicular to a circumferential direction and a radial direction of the metal belt as a lateral direction L, the controller executes a falling-off countermeasure control of the element when a relative movement of the element in the lateral direction L with respect to the ring is detected or a presence of an action of a force on the element which causes such relative movement is detected.
