Power transmission device
A power transmission device includes a motor having a motor shaft, a transmission mechanism, a reduction gear, and a case member. The transmission mechanism is connected downstream of the motor. The transmission mechanism has a band brake, and an actuator. A reduction gear is arranged downstream of the transmission mechanism. The case member houses the motor, at least a part of the transmission mechanism, and the reduction gear. The case member has an outer circumference wall that surrounds an outer circumference with respect to a radial direction perpendicular to a rotation axis of the motor shaft, and a side wall that is linked to the outer circumference wall, and that extends outwardly in the radial direction from the outer circumference wall. The actuator is provided adjacent to the outer circumference wall, and adjacent to the side wall, the actuator overlapping with the band brake in the radial direction.
Band brake actuators for actuating band brakes on planetary gearsets in marine propulsion devices
A band brake actuator is for actuating a band brake on a planetary gearset. The band brake actuator comprises a actuator shaft; an output finger; and a linkage assembly. The linkage assembly connects the actuator shaft to the output finger such that rotation of the actuator shaft in a first rotation direction causes the output finger to engage the band brake on the planetary gearset, and such that rotation of the actuator shaft in an opposite, second rotation direction causes the output finger to disengage the band brake from the planetary gearset. Engagement of the band brake and the planetary gearset shifts the planetary gearset into one of a forward and a reverse gear and wherein disengagement of the band brake and the planetary gearset shifts the planetary gearset into a neutral gear.

Transmission actuator for an outboard motor having a planetary transmission
An outboard motor having an internal combustion engine that causes rotation of a driveshaft and a planetary transmission that operatively connects the driveshaft to a transmission output shaft, the planetary transmission being operable in a forward gear in which forward rotation of the driveshaft causes forward rotation of the output shaft, a reverse gear in which forward rotation of the driveshaft causes reverse rotation of the output shaft, and a neutral gear in which rotation of the driveshaft does not cause rotation of the output shaft, a band brake configured to shift the planetary transmission amongst the forward gear, neutral gear, and reverse gear, and a hydraulic actuator configured to actuate the band brake.
Transmission assembly for a self-propelled machine, and machine fitted with such a transmission
A transmission assembly for a self-propelled machine includes a transmission housing fitted with an input shaft and an output shaft, a so-called drive shaft linked to the input shaft by an endless belt transmission and, arranged between the drive shaft and the output shaft, transmission elements including a control mechanism for reversing the rotational drive direction of the output shaft, and a clutch control mechanism, the direction reversing and clutch controls carried by the housing being mounted respectively movable, one between at least three positions: a neutral position, a forward position and a reverse position, the other between at least an engaged position and a disengaged position. The direction reversing control forms, in the neutral position, an element for blocking the clutch control in the disengaged position, and the clutch control forms, in the engaged position, an element for locking the direction reversing control in the forward or reverse position.
