A piston for a fluid-actuated working cylinder, with a piston base unit which is coaxial to a piston longitudinal axis, consisting of a rigid core body which has radial outer peripheral surface and of an annular filling body which is seated in an annular receiving groove. The receiving groove is coaxial to the piston longitudinal axis and in the region of the radial outer peripheral surface is designed with a radially outwardly facing groove opening in the core body. The piston further includes a ring element which consists of plastic. The ring element radially outwardly coaxially encompasses the piston base unit at least in the region of the filling body, being radially supported with a radial inner peripheral surface on the piston base unit, projecting radially beyond the radial outer peripheral surface of the core body and comprising an axially orientated axial support surface radially outside the piston base unit on its two axial face sides. The piston further includes an annular enveloping body which has rubber elastic characteristics.

In the piston, a leakage groove is formed on a low-pressure side surface of the ring groove, and in a state where the piston ring is abutted with the low-pressure side surface while being abutted with a cylinder, the leakage groove ensures communication between a high-pressure side space and a low-pressure side space with respect to the piston ring.

PISTON ASSEMBLY FORMED OF INTERLOCKING PISTON MEMBERS

A piston assembly that includes a pair of piston members that are formed of compacted powdered metal. The piston members have sets of locking features that include alternating projections and recesses that are spaced circumferentially about and intersect a rod aperture that extends through the piston member. Each projection is formed along a projection axis, which extends radially from a center axis along which the rod aperture is formed, and has a pair of opposite side walls and an end wall that connects the side walls to one another on a side of the projection that is opposite the rod aperture. The recesses on each piston member are configured to matingly and frictionally receive the projections on the other piston member.

A recess in the piston rod portions may be configured to communicate gases between a combustion chamber and locations outside the cylinder. There may also be a chamber surrounding the first or second piston rod portion, the chamber configured to be supplied with gas and the chamber being isolated from the first combustion chamber and the second combustion chamber.

The invention relates to a medical drug delivery apparatus which comprises a cartridge (1) being closed at one end by a membrane (12) and at the opposite end by a movable piston (15). A piston rod foot (1) is provided for transferring the pressure from the piston rod (20) of the drug delivery apparatus and onto the piston (15). The piston rod foot (1) comprises a center part (2) abutting the piston rod (20) and an outer part (3) which center part (2) and outer part (3) are coupled together such that the two (2, 3) can be moved relative to one another, yet remain coupled to each other, when a force above a certain threshold limit is applied to the outer part (3).

Cylinder

A cylinder includes a curved cylinder body, a first support member, and a piston assembly. The curved cylinder body defines a gas chamber passing through opposite ends. The first support member includes a support housing slidably mounted on the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder body and a first permanent magnet securely mounted in the support housing. The piston assembly received in the gas chamber includes a first piston member and a second piston member rotatably coupled to the first piston member. The first and second piston members respectively have a second permanent magnet which is arranged to be attracted to the first permanent magnet. When the piston assembly moves along the curved cylinder body from the first end to the second end in the gas chamber, the first support member moves with the piston assembly on the outer circumferential surface of the curved cylinder body.
