Mechanical seal
In an exemplary embodiment, a mechanical seal for sealing a fluid flowing outwardly radially from sliding surfaces S where a stationary ring 221 and a rotating ring 211 slide against each other, includes: a bellows 222 interposed between the stationary ring 221 and a stationary wall 226; a case member 223 for holding an outer cylindrical part 222c of the bellows 222 to the stationary ring 221; and a holding member 224 fitted to an inner cylindrical part 222a of the bellows 222, and having an axial length substantially equal to a length fitted to the inner cylindrical part 222a, wherein the bellows 222 has a curved part 222b between the outer cylindrical part 222c and the inner cylindrical part 222a, and the case member 223 is provided with a wall part 223a covering the entire periphery of the radial outer side of the curved part 222b.
Non-collapsible flexible sealing membrane and seal assembly for rotary shaft equipment
A non-collapsible flexible sealing membrane (or bellows) for incorporation in a mechanical seal assembly and use in rotary shaft equipment. The sealing membrane includes a substantially radially outward extending first flange portion, which can be urged into an axially shiftable ring by a biasing mechanism. The sealing membrane further includes a substantially axially outboard extending second coaxial portion, substantially radially inward of the balance diameter of the seal. The horizontal portion is advantageously held fixed to a stub sleeve by an annular band. The angle between the vertical portion and the horizontal portion of sealing membrane enables directional control of the forces acting on stub sleeve and primary ring.
Shaft Seal
A shaft seal includes a shaft engaging portion configured to couple to a shaft extending through a wall. The shaft seal includes a flange configured to sealingly engage the wall. The shaft seal includes a body extending between the shaft engaging portion and the flange. The seal is configured to allow radial and axial movement of the shaft relative to the wall while maintaining a seal between the flange and the wall.
Mechanical seal
A mechanical seal has a seal ring and a mating ring that faces and slides against the seal ring and either the seal ring or mating ring is supported via a bellows on the equipment interior side of a seal cover installed on a housing, while the other rotates together with a rotational shaft; and a baffle sleeve with a roughly L-shaped cross-section is fixed on the equipment exterior side of the seal cover to guide quenching liquid to the sliding surfaces of the seal ring and mating ring, where the baffle sleeve is structurally split into a flange part and cylinder part. The mechanical seal allows for preassembly of its seal members on the stationary side, baffle sleeve, damper, and other related parts at a factory, service center, etc., in a reliable and controlled manner, requiring fewer assembly steps during onsite engineering works.
JOINED TWO PLY W SEAL
A metal gasket bellows seal includes a first ply and a second ply coupled to the first ply at a first location via spot joining at one or more locations.
SEAL ASSEMBLY
A seal assembly is disclosed. A seal assembly may comprise a seal carrier, a compliant structure comprising a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is coupled to the seal carrier, and/or a support structure coupled to the second end. The seal carrier may be integral with the compliant structure.
Face seal with welded bellows
A sealing arrangement is disclosed. In one example, the sealing arrangement includes a composite seal ring that includes a seal ring shell and a seal insert, an outer housing, at least one spring, and a welded bellows. The welded bellows can have a fixed end and an opposite free end. The fixed end can be welded to one of the seal ring shell and the outer housing, and the free end can make a non-welded contact seal with the other one of the seal ring shell and the outer housing.
Mechanical seal
A mechanical seal capable of eliminating the need for an elastic body includes a metallic sleeve 120 fixed to a rotary shaft 500 and a metallic rotary ring 110 fixed to the sleeve 120. A metallic cartridge 220 is fixed to a housing 600. A metallic fixed ring 210 is configured to slide on an end surface of the rotary ring 110. A metallic bellows 230 presses the fixed ring 210 toward the rotary ring 110, wherein the rotary ring 110 and the sleeve 120 are connected to each other by an annular first connecting part, whereby a radially inner side region and a radially outer side region are separated from each other, one end of the bellows 230 and the fixed ring 210 are connected to each other by an annular second connecting part.
Shrouded aircraft engine seal carrier
A seal configuration for an aircraft engine includes a ring shaped sealing component defining an axis. A carrier is disposed radially outward of the ring shaped sealing component and supports the ring shaped sealing component. A housing includes a shroud portion. The shroud portion fully surrounds the carrier and is maintained in a static position relative to the carrier via a bellows spring and a plurality of rotation inhibiting features. Each rotation inhibiting feature in the plurality of rotation inhibiting features includes a tab protruding radially outward from the carrier and received in a slot intruding into the shroud portion.
Mechanical seal
A mechanical seal in which a rotary ring can be more reliably positioned. A rotary ring unit 100 includes: a sleeve 120 fixed to a rotary shaft 500; and a rotary ring 110 of which a movement in an axial direction and a rotation with respect to the sleeve 120 is restricted, a fixed ring unit 200 includes: a fixed ring 210 configured to slide on an end surface of the rotary ring 110; and a bellows 250 which presses the fixed ring 210 toward the rotary ring 110, and the sleeve 120 is provided with a stopper 140 which restricts a movement of the rotary ring 110 toward the fixed ring 210.
