Spherical automatic flow emergency restrictor (S.A.F.E.R.) valve

A ball check valve controls the flow of fluid with a sphere. A body has a fluid path and a recess for receiving the sphere in alignment with the fluid path. The sphere has a retainer which secures a ball check within it. When the valve is in a Run position and the rate of fluid flow increases excessively, the ball check seats in a narrow opening of the sphere, thus restricting the flow of fluid.

An excess flow valve includes a valve body including an inlet, an outlet, and a pressure relief portion. The inlet includes an outlet port. A pressure relief valve is positioned in the pressure relief portion. A resetting device is installed within the pressure relief valve, and includes a push rod. An excess flow device is installed within the inlet and includes a flow-stopping component which blocks the outlet port when subjected to fluid pressure exceeding a set limit. When the push rod is moved by a force, one end of the push rod moves toward a position where the flow-stopping component blocks the outlet port. After abnormal exclusion, simply operating the push rod to move the flow-stopping component to release the obstruction. Users can easily release the obstruction of the excess flow device to the fluid by operating the resetting device.

A flow-through pressure-vacuum valve includes a valve body having a tank-side opening and a vent-side opening. A pressure relief valve (e.g., a ball held in a corresponding seat by gravity) is positioned within a first passageway through the body. The ball is moved from the first valve seat to open the first passageway when pressure at the tank-side opening exceeds pressure at the vent-side opening by a predetermined pressure differential. A vacuum relief valve is positioned within another passageway (e.g., a serpentine passageway). The vacuum relief valve (e.g., also a ball held in a corresponding seat by gravity) is positioned within the serpentine passageway. Analogously, the ball is moved from the valve seat to open the serpentine passageway when pressure at the tank-side opening is less than the pressure at the vent-side opening by a predetermined pressure differential.
