A purge valve with an integrated safety function, suitable for an air-drying device. In the purge valve a purge-valve body forms a first exhaust passage for connecting an inlet line to an outlet line. A purge-valve piston is arranged inside the purge-valve body to control a flow of exhaust air through the first exhaust passage upon reception of a purge signal. The purge-valve piston comprises a through opening being configured to form a second exhaust passage for connecting the inlet line to the outlet line. A valve member is arranged in the through opening and is configured to control a flow of exhaust air through the second exhaust passage. The valve member is configured to be actuated by pressurized air when a pressure value in the inlet line exceeds a threshold actuation pressure.

A fluid end includes a fluid end block defining a chamber. A plunger is disposed in the chamber. An outlet fluid passage is formed in the fluid end block in communication with the fluid chamber. An inlet fluid passage formed in the fluid end block communicates with the fluid chamber. The inlet fluid passage includes a seat, an enlarged diameter downstream from the seat, and a neck downstream of the enlarged diameter. The neck has a lesser diameter than the enlarged diameter. An inlet valve is movably disposed in the inlet fluid passage and is sized and shaped to seal against the seat. A biasing member has a first and second end with respective first diameter and a second diameter disposed within the enlarged diameter. The second end is positioned against the neck. The second end diameter is greater than the neck.

A valve (1) for controlling a flow of a fluid comprises: – a valve body having at least one first body part (2) made of a moulded plastic material; – a chamber for passage of the fluid (6), defined within the first body part (2) and comprising at least one fluid inlet (6a) and at least one fluid outlet (6b); – a valve seat (7) defined within the chamber for passage (6) of the fluid; – means for shutting off the fluid (8-9), which can be displaced relative to the valve seat (7) in order to control flow of the fluid; and – a compensation element prearranged for compensating a possible increase in volume and/or pressure of the fluid. The compensation element comprises a compensation body (26) made of an elastically deformable and/or compressible material, the moulded plastic material of the first body part (2) being stiffer than the elastically deformable and/or compressible material. The first body part (2) defines a tubular portion (23) that extends between the valve seat (7) and one of the inlet (6a) and the outlet (6b), within the chamber for passage of the fluid (6). The compensation body (26) is mounted within the chamber for passage of the fluid (6) so as to surround the tubular portion (23) at least partially.

SOLENOID VALVE
