A fieldbus solenoid valve system has a solenoid operated control valve mounted and operated by a solenoid pilot. A direct current power source is connected to a coil of the solenoid pilot and a driver for actuating the coil. A resistive element is in series with the power source, the driver, the solenoid and a ground. A frequency generator is connected to the circuit for creating a frequency pulse train to the coil having a characterization so as not to cause the solenoid pilot to actuate. The voltage is measured between the coil and resistive element and the measured voltage is compared to a base voltage value measured from the same circuit location. An indicator signal is displayed on the fieldbus solenoid valve system or externally when the measured voltage increases to a predetermined amount from said base voltage over time.

Methods and systems for monitoring health of a valve

A method for monitoring health of a valve is presented. The method includes receiving an acoustic emission signal from a sensing device operatively coupled to the valve, selecting a region of interest signal in the acoustic emission signal, determining a plurality of current parameters based on the region of interest signal, and monitoring the health of the valve based on at least the plurality of current parameters, wherein the region of interest signal comprises acoustic emission data generated from initiation of an opening of the valve until the valve is partially opened.

The passive valve arrangement includes an inlet channel and an outlet channel with a valve member between the inlet and outlet channels. The valve member is biased to isolate the inlet and outlet channels. Further, the valve member couples the inlet and outlet channels in response to a pressure present at the inlet channel. An integrated valve status detector is used to provide valve status feedback.

The plurality of ports are associated with a plurality of pressurized fluids. A spool comprising a plurality of openings that correspond to the plurality of ports is provided within the sleeve. The plurality of openings are spaced apart in a manner that enables alignment of a given opening of the plurality of openings to a given port of the plurality of ports based on a given position of the spool within the sleeve. The linear valve comprises an actuator for moving the spool in a forward or reverse linear motion along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The spool may be moved to a given position based on selection of a pressurized fluid of the plurality of pressurized fluids.

The systems can include a valve assembly with a valve and a sampling device that is configured to access a repository with a first buffer and a second buffer. During operation, the valve assembly is configured to read data representing operating variables for the valve into the first buffer. The valve assembly is also configure to determine a quality measure for a first sample set of data from the first buffer, the quality measure indicating the usefulness of the first sample set of data for predicting performance of the valve relative to a second sample set of data from the second buffer. In one embodiment, the valve assembly is further configured to read data from the first buffer into the second buffer in response to the quality measure indicating that the first sample set of data is relatively more useful than the second sample set of data.

Systems and methods described herein provide for pressure relief valve detection and monitoring. A valve assembly includes a striker and an indicator assembly separated by a diaphragm. The diaphragm may be elastically or permanently deformable. The striker may be connected to a relieve valve disk that releases in response to high fluid pressure at the valve. Movement of the striker may be detected by contact with the diaphragm or by sensors near the diaphragm, which may trigger the indicator assembly to provide an external indication of a valve opening.
