Low-torque valve

A valve for controlling a fluid flow comprises: (a) a valve body having an internal cavity; (b) a valve stem receivable within the internal cavity; the valve stem having a control portion configured and a tail portion; the control portion having a first diameter thereof; (c) a deformable valve seat carried by the control portion in a coaxial conformal manner; and (d) a ring mountable within the internal cavity. The control portion has a circumferentially arranged area adjacent to the tail portion. The circumferentially arranged area is of a second diameter smaller than the first diameter. The ring is mountable between a nut and the valve seat such that the nut when secured to the valve body presses onto the valve seat such that the valve seat is deformed within a space between the circumferentially arranged area defined by the second diameter and fills the space in a sealed manner.

Valve for a Faucet Assembly
20170350516 · 2017-12-07 ·

The valve has a pair of mutually rotatable ceramic valve bodies within the bonnet that cooperate to allow a flow of water in one relative position and to block a flow of water in a second relative position. One valve body is engaged by the valve stem to rotate therewith while the second valve body is held fixed within the bonnet via radial projections that fit into recesses in the bonnet. An elastomeric ring of square cross-section is squeezed against the non-rotatable valve body by a spiral retaining ring that is positioned in a circumferential groove in the bonnet.

Storage Tank Valve

A valve for use in a tank vessel that includes a valve housing configured to fit into a threaded vent opening of the tank vessel and a sleeve weldment coupled to the valve housing. The sleeve weldment includes a first end configured to protrude into an interior volume of the tank vessel, and the first end is thermally balanced with the interior volume of the tank vessel. The valve also includes a valve plunger configured to be installed within the sleeve weldment. The valve plunger includes a valve bottom configured to seal an opening between the valve bottom and an interior opening of the sleeve weldment. The valve also may include a cam configured to force the valve plunger into the interior of the tank vessel to break the seal between the valve bottom and the interior opening of the sleeve weldment.

Plug With Attachable Upper Trunnion

A plug for use in a plug valve includes an attachable upper trunnion that is assembled to the main plug body using fasteners and a male-female dovetail fit. The tensile and compressive loading experienced by the main plug body during its linear motion, and the torsional loading experienced during its 90° rotation, is supported by the fasteners and the dovetail fit.

GAS SUPPLY MECHANISM AND SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING SYSTEM

The mechanism includes a pipe and a valve provided in the pipe. The pipe is configured to connect a gas source and a semiconductor manufacturing apparatus. The valve is configured to control a flow rate of the gas. The valve includes a housing and a columnar shaft. The housing includes an inlet and an outlet. A gas flows from the gas source into the internal space through the inlet. A gas flows from the internal space to the semiconductor manufacturing apparatus through the outlet. A gap is provided between an outer peripheral surface of the shaft and an inner wall surface of the housing. The shaft is accommodated in the internal space of the housing and is rotatable. A through hole which penetrates the shaft is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft. Both ends of the through hole correspond to the inlet and the outlet.

Valves

A valve comprising: a valve body; and a valve stem disposed at least partially within the valve body, the valve stem comprising a sidewall defining a central lumen and at least one opening in the sidewall, wherein the valve is adapted to prevent fluid flow through the lumen when the at least one opening is disposed within the valve body and permit fluid flow through the lumen when the at least one opening is exposed from the valve body, and wherein the valve is essentially free of a spring.

Rotary plug valve with labyrinth

A rotary valve has a valve plug that is rotatable in a valve body about a rotational axis. Surface features of the valve plug and surface features of the valve body cooperate to provide a bearing by which the valve plug is rotatably supported with respect to the valve body. In addition, each of the valve plug and the valve body include a plurality of annular projections that encircle the plain bearing and axially overlap one another so as to form a labyrinth that surrounds the bearing. The labyrinth forms a fluid path that collects abrasive particles suspended in the fluid passing through the valve, whereby wear of the valve is reduced.

A VALVE WITH A SHAPE MEMORY ALLOY BASED ACTUATOR
