A multiport ball valve body has one entry port and at least two exit ports disposed transversely to the ball valve body entry port. A ball disposed in the body has one entry port and one exit port that is disposed transversely to the ball entry port. The ball can be rotated to selectively align the ball exit port with one of the at least two body exit ports. Holes through the ball admit part of the fluid flow into the cavity between the ball and the body, and internal parts are exposed, such that the cavity and the internal parts are kept flushed.

A valve sealing arrangement, including a valve body, and a closing member including a closing member contact surface, and a seat, having a center axis, and provided with a sealing portion with a first sealing surface for making contact with the closing member and a back sealing portion with a second sealing surface for making contact with a surface of the valve body. The seat also includes a bellows between the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface wherein the bellows including bellow members wherein adjacent bellow walls form either inwardly open fold or outwardly open fold and wherein one or more of the bellow members extends in a direction that is oblique to the center axis of the seat.

The annular seat includes a first annular sealing ring extending circumferentially about a radially-outer surface of the annular seat and an axially-extending passageway extending through the annular seat to enable fluid flow from a valve cavity to an annular space between the annular seat and the housing. The first annular sealing ring, the axially-extending passageway, and the annular space facilitate movement of the annular seat away from the ball as the ball rotates from the closed position toward the open position.

The first valve seat assembly includes a first seat configured to seat against the ball both above and below a pressure threshold, and a second seat configured to seat against the ball only above the pressure threshold, wherein the second seat has a coefficient of friction that is lower than the first seat.

A system includes a ball valve. The ball valve includes a housing, a ball, and a first valve seat assembly. The housing includes a chamber, a first fluid passage intersecting the chamber, and a second fluid passage intersecting the chamber. The ball is disposed in the chamber and is configured to control fluid flow between the first and second fluid passages. The first valve seat assembly is disposed between the ball and the housing. The first valve seat assembly includes a first seat configured to seat against the ball both above and below a pressure threshold, and a second seat configured to seat against the ball only above the pressure threshold, wherein the second seat has a coefficient of friction that is lower than the first seat.

Disclosed herein is a bellow for use in a ball valve, the bellow comprising: a metallic seat at an end of the bellow for providing a contact surface with a ball of a ball valve; and a metallic body integral with the seat; wherein the metallic body has a longitudinally elastic property such that, when the bellow is in use in a ball valve and the bellow is arranged within the housing of the ball valve so that it is always under longitudinal compression, substantially only the compression in the bellow causes the seat to apply a sealing force against the ball of the ball valve that maintains a mechanical seal between the seat and the ball valve. Advantageously, embodiments allow a new design of ball valve that maintains a high standard of performance in subsea environments over long time periods.
