Split Coupler For Pipes

A split coupler, and methods of making and using such a split coupler, whereby the split coupler includes a first semi-cylindrical member, a second semi-cylindrical member, and an interlocking assembly configured to interlock the first and second semi-cylindrical members to form a substantially cylindrical coupler having a coupler inner surface which defines a throughbore. Additionally, the split coupler can include spiral threads coupled to the coupler inner surface. Furthermore, the split coupler can include a flange inwardly extending from the coupler inner surface.

PIPE JOINT

A pipe joint includes first and second sleeves having fluid flow paths communicating with each other; an annular gasket interposed between abutting end surfaces of the sleeves; a male screw member having a through hole into which the first sleeve is inserted; and a female screw member having a through hole into which the second sleeve is inserted, the sleeves being joined by screwing the male screw member with the female screw member, wherein the pipe joint has a leak port opened at a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the male screw member not covered by the female screw member and communicates with a gap between the male screw member and the first sleeve to detect a leak fluid leaked from gaps between the sleeves and the gasket.

ANNULAR GROOVE ASSEMBLY FOR O-RING FACE SEAL AND RELATED METHOD OF USE

A fitting provides a sealed connection in an optionally pressurized fluid conveying system. The fitting can include a face seal surface defining an annular groove having an outer wall that extends inward from the face seal surface, a floor and an inner ramp wall that extends away from the floor toward the face seal surface. The inner ramp wall can be disposed at an acute angle relative to the floor. In some applications, this angle can be about 64° to about 68°. An O-ring can be disposed in the annular groove and under tension due to being stretched over the inner ramp wall. The O-ring can exert a force radially inward toward the longitudinal axis along the inner ramp wall to thereby improve retention of the O-ring in the annular groove.

Riser support assembly

A riser support assembly includes a riser support pipe comprising a sidewall defining a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and an intermediate portion extending therebetween, the intermediate portion configured to extend through an elevated support structure; and a mount extending from the sidewall, the mount configured to engage a mounting surface of the elevated support structure to support the riser support assembly on the mounting surface.

PIPE UNION ASSEMBLY

A pipe union assembly that includes a female end of a first pipe section and a male end of a second pipe section. The pipe union assembly also includes a quick union nut securable to the female end, a retainer collar securable to the quick union nut and a segmented load ring disposed between the male end of the second pipe section and the quick union nut. The quick union nut, the retainer collar and the segmented load ring cooperate to maintain the male end of the second pipe section inside the female end of the first pipe section. A method of using the pipe union assembly to join a first pipe section and a second pipe section.

Fluid joint assembly adjustable from primary to backup sealing state and fluid connector for same

A fluid connector in a fluid joint assembly such as in a machine hydraulic system includes a connector body having a stem with a seal face extending circumferentially around a connector axis at a backup sealing location. A non-metallic seal is upon the stem and extends circumferentially around the connector axis at a primary sealing location. The fluid connector also includes a swivel nut including threads and a snap retainer and supported for rotation upon the stem. The fluid connector can establish a primary sealing state by way of hand installation, and can be torqued to a backup sealing state to provide a robust metal-to-metal seal.

Nut for fluid joint assembly having thread terminus located for cracking prevention

A nut for joining fluid conduits in a joint assembly includes a nut body having an inner body surface forming a through-bore, for supporting a first fluid conduit and a second fluid conduit. Internal threads upon the inner body surface advance in a helical path around a nut center axis between a thread origin, and a thread terminus that is located between first and second axial end faces of the nut body. At least one of the thread terminus and the thread origin is located within an increased thickness region formed by a varied radial thickness of the nut. The nut has a reduced risk of cracking in service.

A fitting includes a screw portion that is rotatable around an axis extending in one direction, an operating portion that applies a torque around the axis to the screw portion, and a rotation auxiliary member that is configured to be engageable with the operating portion. A slot extending from a first end to a second end is provided in the rotation auxiliary member, and also a first projection that protrudes outward is provided on the rotation auxiliary member. A positional relationship of the first projection is set such that an engaging force between the rotation auxiliary member and the operating portion is increased due to a change in width of the slot in a case where a force is applied to the first projection in the first rotation direction with the rotation auxiliary member engaging with the operating portion.

Coupling nut visible tightness indicator

A fitting assembly configured to visibly indicate nut tightness when coupling a first component to a second component is disclosed. The fitting assembly comprises a nut comprising a threaded portion and a chamber portion, wherein the chamber portion comprises one or more through-holes. The fitting assembly also comprises an indicator slidably disposed within the chamber portion, a retainer assembly disposed within the chamber portion and configured to interlock with an inner surface of the nut, and a spring disposed within the chamber portion between, and engaging, the indicator and the retainer assembly. The retainer assembly is configured to interface with the spring to retain the spring within the chamber portion. The fitting assembly is configured to receive the first component and the second component such that, when the nut is rotated, a visibility of the indicator through the one or more through-holes changes.
