RADIAL PRESS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HIGH-PRESSURE HYDRAULIC LINE
When producing a high-pressure hydraulic line, a connection fitting is attached to a multi-layer high-pressure hose having a reinforcing layer. A portion of a reinforced high-pressure hose and a connection fitting to be joined to it are provided. The connection fitting is placed onto the end portion of the high-pressure hose and a joining operation is carried out to form a sealed connection. The quality of the connection is determined by applying an electrical test signal to at least one connection of a testing arrangement having two connections. A first connection is electrically and/or magnetically coupled to the connection fitting and a second connection is contactlessly electrically and/or magnetically coupled to a reinforcing layer of the high-pressure hose. An electrical response signal is detected and the response signal is compared with a setpoint-value range stored in a memory of the testing arrangement.
Tapered strut with mechanical fittings
A composite tapered tubular assembly includes a composite tapered tube extending between a first end and a second end and tapered so as to have a smaller radius R1 at the first end than a radius R2 at the second end. The assembly also includes a first internal annular wedge that is in contact with an inner surface of the tube at said first end and a first external annular wedge in contact with the outer surface of the tube at said first end. The assembly further includes a first nut provided at said first end that is configured to be connected to said first internal wedge and a second external annular wedge provided on an outer surface of the tube and a second internal annular wedge in contact with the inner surface of said composite tube at said second end, and a second nut connected to an internal surface.
DOUBLE TAPER CONNECTOR
A pipe connection for connecting pipe or terminating pipe may include a mandrel with an insertion portion configured for inserting into an open end of a pipe and including a head. The pipe connection may also include a slip for bitingly engaging an outer surface of the pipe and having a first tapered portion and a second tapered portion. The pipe connection may also include a sleeve having cam surfaces for engaging the first and second tapered portions and a head engaging portion for securing the sleeve to the head.
Load bearing flexible conduit
A load bearing flexible conduit system for use in a body of water and adapted for deployment from a reel located on a water going vessel into the body of water is disclosed. The system comprises a number of lengths of load bearing flexible conduit, each length of load bearing flexible conduit provided with an inner layer having a throughbore and a load bearing outer layer. A joint for connecting the lengths together has a body having a longitudinal axis and a throughbore and at least one flexible coupling to permit at least one of the ends of the respective first and second lengths of load bearing flexible conduit to move relative to the longitudinal axis of the joint.
MECHANICAL FITTING FOR A PLASTIC PIPE CONNECTION AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
A fitting for a pipe has a cylindrical sleeve and a spigot fitted concentrically within the sleeve. The sleeve is slidable along the spigot in a proximal direction. The sleeve has a gripper ring cavity with a conical bearing surface with a diameter that is smaller at the distal end and a larger at the proximal end. One or more gripper rings fit within the cavity and slidingly engage the bearing surface. The spigot has an outer surface sized to fit within a proximal end of the pipe. The inner surface of the gripper rings and the outer surface of the spigot define an annular space with a first radial width sized to accept insertion of the proximal end of the pipe. When the sleeve is moved with respect to the spigot in the proximal direction toward a sealed position, the rings are inwardly compressed by the bearing surface to grip an outer surface of the pipe. The end of the pipe is drawn into a space between the sleeve and the spigot with radial width smaller than the first radial width.
INNER RING AND PIPE JOINT
An inner ring 4 of a pipe joint 1 includes a bulge portion 6 formed at an axially outer end portion thereof so as to project toward a radially outer side, and to be press-fitted into an end portion of a tube 8, and has a fluid flow passage 4a formed on a radially inner side of the bulge portion 6. The bulge portion 6 is formed so as to be tapered from an axially inner side toward an axially outer end thereof in an axial cross-sectional view, and has a flat surface 6e formed at the axially outer end thereof and extending in a radial direction.
Connecting device
A connecting device for connecting two or more components to one another, includes an inlet section and an outlet section. The inlet section and the outlet section respectively include one or more connectors for each of the two or more components, with one or more passages extending between the inlet section and the outlet section, with the connecting device being of single piece design and being plastic.
Joining metal fittings to a polymer composite pipe
A fitting is attached to a composite pipe by inserting a tubular root portion of the fitting into an end of the pipe and then tensioning longitudinally-extending tensile elements distributed around the fitting. This moves an outer wedge component of the fitting longitudinally relative to the pipe to force an opposed inner wedge formation radially inwardly toward the roof portion, clamping the fitting to the pipe. The fitting may be an end fitting to enable the pipe to be joined to another pipe or conduit, or may be an in-line fitting used to join two lengths of pipe end-to-end.
CONNECTING DEVICE
A connecting device for connecting two or more components to one another, includes an inlet section and an outlet section. The inlet section and the outlet section respectively include one or more connectors for each of the two or more components, with one or more passages extending between the inlet section and the outlet section, with the connecting device being of single piece design and being plastic
Mechanical fitting for plastic pipe
Spigot device including a spigot formed with exterior gripping teeth and sleeve device to telescope over the spigot. The sleeve device is formed with a radially inwardly opening, distally contracting conical bearing surface which mounts a radially inwardly contractible gripper ring device captive therein, and constructed to be driven radially inwardly by the bearing surface as the sleeve is drawn proximally on the spigot to grip a plastic pipe trapped in the annulus between the sleeve and spigot.
