Mechanical joint restraint

A method of using a mechanical joint restraint includes inserting an end of a pipe length into a gland bore of a gland, a ring bore of a gripping ring, and a gasket bore of a gasket, the gland, the gripping ring, and the gasket together forming the mechanical joint restraint; inserting at least a portion of the gasket of the mechanical joint restraint into a socket of a piping element; inserting the end of the pipe length into the socket of the piping element; and drawing the gland towards a flange of the piping element to compress the gasket into sealing engagement with the piping element and the pipe length.

Quick connector latch verification utilizing a scannable code

This disclosure relates to a quick connector adapted to display a code that verifies that a latch member is engaged to retain an installed pipe to the quick connector. The quick connector comprises a connector body having a receiving portion surrounding an internal passage, the internal passage arranged to receive the pipe therein. A latch member retained on the receiving portion is arranged to be movable between a pipe insertion position and a latched position. In the pipe insertion position, the latch member allows the pipe to be inserted into the internal passage. A code readable by a scanning device becomes readable when the latch member is moved to the latched position verifying that the pipe is installed and latched in the connector body.

PLUG-IN CONNECTOR FOR CONNECTING PIPES FOR LIQUID OR GASEOUS MEDIA

The disclosure relates to a plug connector and method for connecting pipes for liquid or gaseous media. The plug connector includes a connector body and a locking element. An indicator element is formed, which has an indicator surface, a first partial section and a second partial section, wherein the first partial section and the second partial section are flexibly coupled to one another by means of a spring section. The first partial section is connected to the locking element, and the indicator surface is formed on the second partial section, wherein the indicator element is formed such that, in a locking position of the locking element, the second partial section is deformed relative to the first partial section, so that the indicator surface is pushed into an indicator position.

A hose connector is disclosed that provides a magnetized connection of hoses, tubes, cables, ducts, pipes, chains, straps, wires, twine, cord and/or rope creating a continuation in length for versatile and extended flow for, but not limited to, watering needs eliminating conventional connector threads currently requiring multiple turns to release or attach or existing pronged coupling requiring a degree of hand agility and strength. Thereby the disclosed matter provides the means for a fast, single motion attachment or twisting detachment of, but not limited to hose, tube, cable, duct, pipe, chain, strap, wire, twine, cord and/or rope ends without requiring the hand strength or precision that some conventional hose, tube, cable, duct, twine, cord, and/or rope connectors may require. There may be any combination of connecting the ends of hoses, tubes, cables, ducts, pipes, chains, straps, wires, twines, cords, and/or ropes. In some scenarios, flow is not required.

A joint body has tube connection holes each having an inner circumferential surface including a plurality of contact walls, which are equiangularly spaced about an axis of the tube connection hole and extend along the axis. A joint guide is cylindrical and includes a barb on its outer circumferential surface. The joint guide is configured such that, when the joint guide is press-fitted into the tube connection hole, the outer circumferential surface of the joint guide comes into contact with inner wall surfaces of the contact walls and the barb catches the contact walls.

Fluid connector with full insertion assurance cap disconnect tool

A fluid connector, including a tubular member, a connector body, including an exterior opening groove, and a retainer clip to lock the tubular member to the connector body, an assurance cap including one or more latch fingers engaged with the exterior opening groove, and a tool, including an annular collar mountable over the tubular member, and a plurality of fingers carried on and extending axially from the annular collar, the plurality of fingers operatively arranged to engage the latch fingers when the collar and the plurality of fingers are engaged with the assurance cap to disengage the latch fingers from the exterior opening groove to disconnect the assurance cap from the connector body.

A connector includes a connector body having a hollow channel, and a retainer configured to prevent a pipe inserted into the hollow channel from being removed using a stopper piece. The retainer body lies along the outer peripheral surface of the retainer attachment portion. A bearing allows the retainer body to rotate from a temporary locking position to a main locking position. A detection piece passes through a detection hole and projects into the hollow channel when located in the temporary locked position, so as to be pushed in an axial direction by a bulge of the pipe. An inclined surface of the detection piece inclines with respect to the axial direction such that a pushing force can be converted to a radially outward force. A first energy conversion mechanism serves to convert the energy converted by the inclined surface to the rotational energy in the locking direction.
