A ratchet fitting includes a screw portion and an operating portion. The elastic member and the engaging member are fitted such that a rotational force is transmittable to each other due to engagement of the projection and the protrusion and engagement between the projection and the protrusion is releasable due to deformation of the elastic member. The elastic member has a first fitting portion, the holding member has a second fitting portion, and the holding member and the elastic member are fitted such that the first fitting portion and the second fitting portion are fitted to each other in a rotation direction.

In an implementation, a hydraulic assembly comprising an end section of a hydraulic hose formed from a volume of material, the end section having a first outer diameter and an open end, is formed by molding a flange in the end section of the hydraulic hose, and threading an annular gasket onto the end section of the hydraulic hose between the flange and the open end of the hydraulic hose, and adjacent to the flange. The flange is formed in the volume of material, and has a second outer diameter greater than the first outer diameter. The molding of the flange may include applying heat to a mold, inserting the open end of the end section of the hydraulic hose into the mold, and thermally deforming a portion of the end section of the hydraulic hose to form the flange.

A sealing method and corresponding compensation ring, or alternately called a load washer, for use in portable spas or bath tubs that can be installed as part of an assembly when attaching fittings that go through a hole in a spa wall. The method and ring are used to compensate for the uneven surface of spa walls and the necessity that the fitting assembly provides that the fitting chosen sits parallel with the inside of the spa wall regardless of the shape of the surface of the wall, whether it is uniform or not. The fitting fits between a nut and the back/plumbing side of the spa wall with the fitting of choice and securing gasket being inserted into the assembly on the front/aesthetic/water side of the spa wall.
