PREPARATION METHOD OF SILICA AEROGEL-CONTAINING BLANKET AND SILICA AEROGEL-CONTAINING BLANKET PREPARED BY USING THE SAME
Provided are a preparation method of a silica aerogel-containing blanket which includes mixing a water glass solution, a polar organic solvent, and a silazane-based surface modifier to prepare a sol, preparing a silica gel-base material composite by immersion and gelation of a base material for a blanket in the sol, and drying the silica gel-base material composite, and a silica aerogel-containing blanket prepared by using the preparation method.
A silica aerogel-containing blanket having a high degree of hydrophobicity as well as excellent physical properties, particularly, low tap density, high porosity, and excellent mechanical flexibility may be prepared by the minimal use of a surface modifier without a surface modification step by the above method.
Thermal Vacuum Insulation Element
A thermal vacuum insulation element (10) comprising a first planar limiting part (12) and a second planar limiting part (14). The limiting parts are spaced apart from each other and define an evacuated space (16) between them. The evacuated space (16) is sealed by means (26) for sealing. The vacuum insulation element includes first support elements (18) extending away from the first limiting part (12) into the evacuated space (16) and second support elements (20) extending away from the second limiting part (14) into the evacuated space (16), the limiting parts (12, 14) being arranged with the support elements (18, 20) such that the first support elements (18) and the second support elements (20) protrude beyond and are spaced from each other. The first support elements (18) are spaced from the second limiting part (14), and the second support elements (20) are spaced from the first limiting part (12). A fiber structure (22) interconnects the first support elements (18) and the second support elements (20). The fiber structure (22) has a low thermal conductivity and is configured to absorb at least the pressure caused by the vacuum on the first and second limiting parts (12, 14).
Hemp insulation fire retardant applicator and method
A device and a method for applying a liquid fire retardant onto hemp fibers and into hemp insulation batting using a multiple needle construction, which can act as an insulation substitute to be used in building structures that does not irritate the skin or contain harmful, toxic elements and is a quicker and a more efficient method with a reduction in drying time.
Method and apparatus for manufacturing aerogel sheet
An apparatus for manufacturing an aerogel sheet including: a supply roller around which a blanket is wound to form a roll; a conveyor belt transferring the blanket wound around the supply roller from one side to the other side thereof; a silica sol supply member injecting the silica sol to a surface of the blanket disposed on the conveyor belt to impregnate the blanket with silica sol; a catalyst supply member injecting a gelling catalyst to the surface of the blanket impregnated with silica sol to gelate the silica sol; a collection roller winding the blanket, which is transferred up to the other side by the conveyor belt, in the form of a roll; and a reaction vessel which accommodates the roll-shaped blanket collected by the collection roller and in which the accommodated blanket is aged, modified by injecting a coating solution, or dried at a high temperature.
COMPRESSED SHEETS WITH HIGH STRETCHABILITY
A sheet of material is crumpled and flattened so that it is longitudinally compressed while remaining substantially uncompressed in the lateral direction. Once so formed, the sheet may be stretched to conform to complex three-dimensional shapes. When applied to thermally insulated piping, for example, such sheets may serve as barriers to the movement of water in the insulation system.
FINE FIBER INSULATION PRODUCTS WITH IMPROVED THERMAL PROPERTIES
An insulation product is disclosed comprising a plurality of glass fibers; and a cross-linked formaldehyde-free binder composition at least partially coating the glass fibers. The glass fibers have an average fiber diameter in the range of 8 HT (2.03 μm) to 15 HT (3.81 μm). At a density (x) between 0.3 pcf and 1.6 pcf, the insulation product may achieve a thermal conductivity (y) less than or equal to that which satisfies Formula (III):
y=0.116x.sup.2−0.3002x+0.4219. Formula (III):
Mineral wool product prepared with a binder containing a hydrophobic agent
A mineral wool product comprises mineral fibers bound by a binder resulting from the curing of a binder composition comprising a phenol-formaldehyde-based resin, and/or a carbohydrate containing component; a hydrophobic agent comprising (i) at least one silicone compound, such as silicone resin; (ii) at least one hardener, such as silane; (iii) optionally, at least one emulsifier; as insulation of a metallic structure, said structure having an operating temperature between 0-650° C.
HYDROPHOBIC SILICA AEROGEL BLANKET AND METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME
Provided is a hydrophobic silica aerogel blanket comprising holes, so that the diffusion of a surface modifier is facilitated in a blanket during a surface modification process to improve the efficiency of surface modification. Accordingly, the hydrophobic silica aerogel has not only excellent physical properties such as specific surface area and thermal conductivity, but also a controlled degree of hydrophobicity, and thus, can have high hydrophobicity.
Fastening device for a heat-shield panel
A device for securing at least one thermal protection mat to an internal fixed structure of a nacelle includes at least one removable fastening element for securing the at least one thermal protection mat to the internal fixed structure designed to be arranged between the mat and the internal fixed structure. The device includes at least one gripping element connected to the removable fastening element to project relative to the mat on the opposite side to the internal fixed structure, the removable fastening element being intended to be detached from the internal fixed structure by a pulling force exerted on the gripping element.
HIGH TEMPERATURE PROTECTION WRAP FOR PLASTIC PIPES AND PIPE APPLIANCES
A concentric, multi-layer laminated wrap for protection of plastic pipes including up to 60-minute fire endurance, low flame spread, low smoke, and toxic products of combustion. The laminated wrap can withstand temperatures up to 2000° F. for up to a period of 60 minutes. The concentric laminated wrap includes an inner support layer that provides strength, an intermediate fire protective coating layer that provides fire, heat, and high temperature protection, and an outer top coating layer that provides resistance to abrasion, impact, and environmental factors including water, salt water, hydrocarbons, chemicals, and gases. The protection to plastic pipes and pipe appliances is provided by the fire protective coating layer that is applied directly to the pipe or as a layer in the laminated wrap around the pipe.
