HIGH-TEMPERATURE AND/OR HIGH PRESSURE GAS ENCLOSURE
A gas enclosure of can include a refractory metal liner adapted to surround and enclose a gas to be contained; a ceramic matrix composite cladding; and a diffusion barrier layer disposed between the refractory metal liner and the ceramic matrix composite cladding.
METHOD FOR COATING A WALL
A method for coating a wall with a metallic surface layer, the wall including an outer wall layer formed from or including a plastic material or a fiber composite material, the method comprising: in a first step providing a wall base body formed by the outer wall layer; therafter in a second step bonding the outer wall layer to an intermediate layer formed from or including a fiber composite material to form the wall to be coated, wherein fibers of the fiber composite material of the intermediate layer include a metallic surface, wherein fibers of the fiber composite material of the intermediate layer connected to the outer wall layer include a non-metallic fiber core coated with a metal or a metal alloy; and thereafter in a third step coating the wall with the metallic surface layer on a surface of the intermediate layer facing away from the outer wall layer.
High-temperature and/or high pressure gas enclosure
A gas enclosure can include a refractory metal liner; a ceramic matrix composite cladding; and a diffusion barrier layer. The refractory metal liner is adapted to surround and enclose a gas to be contained within the gas enclosure. The diffusion barrier layer is disposed between the refractory metal liner and the ceramic matrix composite cladding.
Composite pressure vessel assembly with an integrated nozzle assembly
A pressure vessel assembly includes a vessel having a wall defining a chamber and a circumferentially continuous lip projecting into the chamber from the wall. The lip defines a through-bore that is in fluid communication with the chamber. A nozzle assembly of the pressure vessel assembly includes a tube projecting at least in-part into the through-bore, and an o-ring disposed between, and in sealing contact with, the tube and the lip.
Composite pressure vessel assembly and method of manufacturing
A composite pressure vessel assembly includes a first vessel having a first inner layer and a second vessel having a second inner layer. An outer layer of the assembly is in contact with and substantially envelopes the first and second inner layers. A junction of the assembly has outer boundaries defined by segments of the first inner layer, the second inner layer and the outer layer. A cross-layered component of the assembly is disposed in the junction, the first and second inner layers and the outer layer for adding strength to the junction and restricting delamination.
Hydrogen storage tank
A hydrogen storage tank includes a liner layer to store hydrogen and a carbon fiber reinforced plastic layer disposed outside the liner layer. The liner layer is formed from a low-alloy steel, and the carbon fiber forming the carbon fiber reinforced plastic layer is a pitch based carbon fiber.
