METHOD FOR REFUELLING A VEHICLE
The invention relates to a method for refuelling a vehicle (60) or an autonomous vehicle (60). At least one hydrogen tank (10) accommodating gaseous hydrogen is fitted in the vehicle (60). The method comprises the following method steps: The vehicle (60) drives into a refuelling area (24). A refuelling operation (28; 78, 80, 82) is performed on the vehicle (60). Then, the temperature of the contents of the at least hydrogen tank (10) is checked (30). If a temperature (74) of the tank contents of the at least one hydrogen tank (10) exceeds a temperature limit value (32), the vehicle (60) is transferred to a cooling down area (36). There, the tank temperature (44) is checked a second time following a cooling down phase. The tank pressure is checked (48) if the tank temperature (74) lies below a temperature limit value. If the tank pressure (76) in the at least one hydrogen tank (10) is below a tank pressure limit value, the vehicle (60) is transferred to the refuelling area (24) to continue refuelling; if the tank pressure (76) is in the tank pressure limit range, refuelling is halted (52).

STRATEGIES FOR SAFE FAST-FILL OF COMPRESSED GAS TANKS
A type IV conformable pressure vessel is provided comprising an elongated folded tank and a valve assembly configured to pass fluid into and out of an interior of the tank through first and second filling couplers directly connected to a respective first and second end of the tank. The tank has at least two chambers for the storage of fluid. The valve assembly receives fluid from an external source, selectively provides the external fluid through a Venturi nozzle into a mixing chamber, recirculates fluid from the second end of the tank into the mixing chamber, and delivers the mixture of the recirculated fluid and the external fluid to the first end of the tank.
GAS FUELING SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH MINIMUM AND/OR NO COOLING
Gaseous fueling systems and methods are provided for dispensing fuel to a vehicle or container. The distribution systems speed up the filling process and may eliminate the use of expensive cooling systems required in the art. The methods utilize sequences of filling and emptying the vehicle gas storage tank to control the temperature of the gas inside the tank. These filling and emptying sequences may overlap. The methods repeatedly dispense fuel to the vehicle fuel tank at a first flow rate and for a first period of time and remove fuel from the fuel tank at a second flow rate for a second period of time, which periods may overlap, to maintain fuel temperature within a desired temperature range and until the vehicle fuel tank is filled to a desired level. In addition, the fill-up mass flowrate can be maximized to system capabilities so a fill-up can be completed in about one minute.
Gas fueling systems and methods with minimum and/or no cooling
Gaseous fueling systems and methods are provided for dispensing fuel to a vehicle or container. The disclosure relates to an electrically powered mobile fluid supply system (MFSS) for supplying fluid to a host unit. The MFSS comprises at least one pressurized fluid volume, a fluid dispenser fluidly connectable to the host unit and configured to supply fluid from the at least one pressurized fluid volume to the host unit in a fluid supply operation, and at least one compressor configured to build sufficient pressure for the fluid supply operation in the MFSS. The MFSS is configured to be electrically connected to the host unit and the at least one compressor is configured to be electrically connected to the MFSS and electrically powered by the host unit during the fluid supply operation.
The disclosure further relates to a method for supplying fluid to a host unit, to a control unit configured to control the fluid supply operation, and to the MFSS.
Natural gas filling system for a vehicle
A natural gas filling system for a vehicle includes a piping system defining a first flow path, a receptacle, a tank, and a cooling circuit. The piping system includes a first end and a second end. The receptacle is coupled to the first end of the piping system, and the receptacle is configured to engage a natural gas filling station. The tank is in fluid communication with the receptacle and is configured to store a natural gas supply. The cooling circuit defines a second flow path and includes an expansion valve configured to reduce a pressure of a secondary fluid flow. The second flow path is in thermal communication with the first flow path such that heat transfer from the piping system into the cooling circuit cools the natural gas flowing between the receptacle and the tank.
SUBCOOLED CYROGENIC STORAGE AND TRANSPORT OF VOLATILE GASES
A system and method of operation is described wherein a cryogenic liquid transport fluid is used as in a thermal cascade with at least one volatile gas. The volatile gas in the liquid state enables transport thereof. In operating this system, the liquid volatile gas is maintained at a temperature below its boiling point, below its flash point, but above its freezing point.
