CRYOGENIC STORAGE SYSTEM
20220373136 · 2022-11-24 ·

A cryogenic storage system basically includes a first cryogenic storage tank, a second cryogenic storage tank, a fluid transfer line and a cryogenic containment structure. The first cryogenic storage tank has a first predetermined capacity of liquefied gas. The second cryogenic storage tank has a penetration free bottom and a second predetermined capacity of the liquefied gas that is larger than the first predetermined capacity of the first cryogenic storage tank. The fluid transfer line is fluidly connected between the first cryogenic storage tank and the second cryogenic storage tank. The heat exchanger converts liquid exiting the first cryogenic storage tank to a higher pressure gas that is used as a motive force to move liquidized gas out of the second cryogenic storage.

GAS TREATMENT SYSTEM AND SHIP INCLUDING SAME

The present invention relates to a gas treatment system and a ship including the same. The gas treatment system treats liquefied gas as heavier hydrocarbons or ammonia. The gas treatment system includes: a fuel tank storing liquefied gas as a fuel to be supplied to a propulsion engine of a ship; a liquefied gas supply line supplying the liquefied gas of the fuel tank in a liquid phase to the propulsion engine, the liquefied gas supply line having a high pressure pump provided thereon; a reliquefaction apparatus liquefying boil-off gas generated in a cargo tank storing liquefied gas; and a liquefied gas collection line collecting the liquid liquefied gas discharged from the propulsion engine upstream of the high pressure pump. The reliquefaction apparatus transfers the liquefied boil-off gas to the fuel tank, thereby allowing the liquefied boil-off gas to be supplied to the propulsion engine by the high pressure pump.

HYDROGEN GAS FILLING DEVICE

An emergency breakaway coupling, which is a disconnect coupling, is configured such that a first coupler and a second coupler thereof are connected under normal conditions and the first coupler and the second coupler are disconnected during an emergency. A disconnect detecting device includes a detecting piece and a moving piece that are arranged in the emergency breakaway coupling. The disconnect detecting device detects the disconnect of the emergency breakaway coupling due to the movement of the moving piece from the detecting piece. The detecting piece and the moving piece are arranged in the emergency breakaway coupling such that a moving direction O2-O2 of the moving piece moving from the detecting piece is in parallel with a disconnecting direction O1-O1 of the first coupler disconnecting from the second coupler.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSFERING AND COOLING A COMPRESSED FUEL GAS
20230132083 · 2023-04-27 ·

A method and apparatus for cooling a compressed fuel gas during transfer of the gas from a source vessel to a receiving vessel. The method includes receiving a portion of the fuel gas from the source vessel in an intermediate vessel. Then, fluidly isolating the intermediate vessel from the source vessel. Work is then extracted from the fuel gas by causing or allowing expansion of the fuel gas, thereby cooling the fuel gas. Finally, the cooled portion of fuel gas is released from the intermediate vessel to the receiving vessel.
