The BOG reliquefaction system includes: a compressor compressing BOG; a heat exchanger cooling the BOG compressed by the compressor through heat exchange using BOG not compressed by the compressor as a refrigerant; a pressure reducer disposed downstream of the heat exchanger and reducing a pressure of fluid cooled by the heat exchanger; and a second oil filter disposed downstream of the pressure reducer, wherein the compressor includes at least one oil-lubrication type cylinder and the second oil filter is a cryogenic oil filter.

A system and a method with boil-off management for liquefied fuel storage are provided. The system includes a cryotank for storing a liquefied fuel, a pump for providing and compressing a first stream of the liquefied fuel, a heat exchanger for provide cooling duty to the first stream of the liquefied fuel, and an expansion valve for expanding the first stream of the liquefied fuel after the heat exchanger into a multiphase stream comprising a liquid phase and a gas phase. The multiphase stream has a temperature lower than an initial temperature of the first stream from the cryotank. The system further comprises a liquid-vapor splitter for separating the liquid phase and gas phase in the multiphase stream. The liquid phase is returned into the cryotank.

Apparatus, methods and technologies are described for utilizing a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) fueling station to supply fresh or hydrogen laden LOHC and to recover spent or hydrogen depleted LOHC liquid fuels from mobile vehicles and tanker trucks to support the use of LOHC as carbon-neutral hydrogen fuels to power vehicles, to generate and store electricity, to generate and capture hydrogen, and to replace the use of conventional hydrocarbon fuels while maintaining an overall carbon-neutral balance with respect to the environment. The disclosure includes apparatus, methods and technologies to resupply a modular LOHC fueling station, to store, dispense and recover LOHC fuels, and to transfer the LOHC liquid fuels while balancing displaced vapors to maintain an overall carbon-neutral environmental footprint.

The BOG reliquefaction system includes: a compressor compressing BOG; a heat exchanger cooling the BOG compressed by the compressor through heat exchange using BOG discharged from a storage tank as a refrigerant; a bypass line through which the BOG is supplied to the compressor after bypassing the heat exchanger; a second valve disposed on a second supply line through which the BOG used as the refrigerant in the heat exchanger is supplied to the compressor, the second valve regulating a flow rate of fluid and opening/closing of the second supply line; and a pressure reducer disposed downstream of the heat exchanger and reducing a pressure of fluid cooled by the heat exchanger, wherein the compressor includes at least one oil-lubrication type cylinder and the bypass line is joined to the second supply line downstream of the second valve.

One method includes: a) heating at least a portion of the LNG to provide a boil-off gas stream and a liquid quench stream; b) routing the boil-off gas stream and the liquid quench stream to a quench system, wherein the quench system cools the boil-off gas stream to provide a quenched stream; and c) compressing the quenched stream to provide a compressed quenched stream.

A station and method for refilling a tank or tanks with pressurized gas in which liquefied gas is vaporized in a vaporizer. One portion of the vaporized gas is compressed to produce a compressed gas. Another portion of the vaporized gas is not compressed but instead is fed to a heat exchanger where it is used to cool the compressed gas. The thus-warmed gas is reinjected into a filling line that feeds the liquefied gas to the vaporizer.

The disclosed systems and methods generate methane gas from a reservoir of liquid methane stored within the methane storage unit, vent the methane gas through one or more outlet valves connected to the methane storage unit, and generate electric power using the vented methane gas. The generated electric power can then be used to initiating a cooling cycle, which reduces the temperature of said reservoir of liquid methane and reduces the pressure in said methane storage unit. Micro anaerobic digesters and methane storage units may be configured in a networked environment with a central controller that monitors remote units.
