The plurality of dual-purpose cryogenic storage tanks may contain LNG or LIN. A LNG-only cryogenic storage tank may be arranged along the length of the ship. The LNG-only cryogenic storage tank contains only LNG.

A tripping risk parameter of the pump (30) is estimated at least as a function of a required net positive suction head of the pump (30), of the current filling level of the tank and of a current state of movement, which is a current sea state and/or a current state of movement of the ship, and a user is provided with an indication as a function of said tripping risk parameter.

A particular application to ships for transporting a cold liquid product, more particularly to ships for transporting LNG of the type which consume the boil-off gas for their propulsion.

LNG export terminal

A near shore liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal includes an LNG storage unit, a jetty and a converted hydrocarbon carrier-vessel moored against the jetty. The carrier-vessel includes a hull, at least one hydrocarbon storage tank and is provided with a natural gas processing system for liquefying natural gas. Onshore produced natural gas is supplied through a first pipeline to the natural gas processing plant on the carrier-vessel and the LNG produced by the natural gas processing system is transferred from the carrier-vessel to the LNG storage unit via a second pipeline suitable for the transfer of cryogenic fluids.
