Camera and light adjustment module

A light adjustment module for a camera includes a light source unit and a light adjustment unit. The light source unit includes light emitting elements disposed around a lens of the camera, and the light direction of each of the light emitting elements is parallel to the image capturing direction of the lens. The light adjustment unit is disposed above the light source unit and includes secondary optical elements, and the secondary optical elements respectively correspond to the light emitting elements. The light emitted by each of light emitting elements is deflected through the corresponding secondary optical element. Each of the secondary optical elements includes a first ring-shaped prism and a second ring-shaped prism, the width of the second ring-shaped prism is greater than the width of the first ring-shaped prism, and the second ring-shaped prism surrounds the outer circumference of the first ring-shaped prism.

A self-contained battery-operated device is fixedly mounted to a drone device in a plurality of drone devices. The first self-contained battery-operated device includes one or more processors, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a location detection device, a two-dimensional pixilated detector, and memory, all connected by a common bus. Time-stamped images of an environmental region are captured using the two-dimensional pixilated detector at a time when the drone device is airborne. For each of the captured time-stamped images, a respective set of meta data is obtained, which includes (1) rotational values obtained using the gyroscope, indicating a relative orientation of the self-contained battery-operated device with respect to a respective reference orientation at a time of image capture, and (2) location information obtained using the location detection device at a time of image capture. The time-stamped images and the respective sets of meta data are sent to a remote processing device.

LED FLASH RING SURROUNDING CAMERA LENS

A flash system for an electronic device includes a ring-shaped light guide having a central opening. A camera lens is positioned in or behind the opening. A first light emitting diode (“LED”) is mounted on a printed circuit board (“PCB”), and the LED and PCB are encapsulated by a molded light guide of the flash system. An identical LED and PCB are encapsulated at an opposite end of the molded light guide (i.e., 180 degrees away). The back surfaces of each PCB diffusively reflects light from the LED on the other PCB. Light extraction features on the light guide surface uniformly leak out light from the LEDs. The light emission profile of the light guide has a peak axially aligned with the central opening of the light guide and rolls off to the edge of the camera's field of view.
