The LED module includes a heatsink, at least one LED on a top surface of the heatsink, and mounting features protruding from the top surface of the heat sink for alignment with an optical component. A thermally insulating material is adjacent at least portions of the mounting features that would otherwise be in contact with the optical component when mounted.
Thin aspect lighting system with cutoff
A thin aspect lighting system and method are shown. The system and method include at least one module having a reflector that is generally elliptical in one cross-section and generally parabolic in another cross-section. Each module is adapted to generate at least one of a flat beam pattern, a high beam pattern or a low beam pattern, such as a low beam pattern with a kink or elbow. Also shown is a headlamp assembly having a plurality of modules that generate the same or a different light beam pattern. Manipulation and variation of facets or positions of various components, such as at least one light source provides improved characteristics in one or more of the light beam patterns.
Lighting device with multiple-region reflector
Lighting devices that comprise a light source and a reflector, the reflector comprising first, second and third reflector regions. In some devices, a first portion of light is reflected by the first region and then by the third reflector region, a second portion of light is reflected by the second region and forms a primary beam, and at least 5% of the first portion of light that is reflected by the third region is within the primary beam of light. In some devices, at least 5% of all light reflected by the first reflector region travels from the first reflector region directly to the third reflector region. In some devices, at least 5% of all light reflected by the third reflector region traveled directly from the first reflector region to the third reflector region. In some devices, the reflector comprises means for providing the features described above.
