Lighting apparatus with optical member having asymmetric light incident surface

A lighting apparatus includes a plurality of LEDs arranged in a row on an elongated wiring board; and a lens covering all the LEDs and controlling distribution of light emitted from each LED. An optical axis of the light emitted from each LED is orthogonal to the wiring board. The lens has a light emitting surface that controls distribution of the light emitted from each LED. When the light emitting surface is divided into at least three regions, the lens performs light distribution such that light radiated from a region is distributed in a direction tilted with respect to the optical axis of the light emitted from the LED. Thus, asymmetric distribution of light is achieved when the optical axis of the light from the LED is the axis of symmetry, and further, the luminous flux in the direction tilted with respect to the optical axis is increased most.

LIGHTING DEVICE

A lighting device including at least one first light source configured to emit a visible light through a first light emitting surface, at least one second light source spaced apart from the first light source and configured to emit light having a wavelength for sterilization through a second light emitting surface, and a hosing having a bottom portion, on which the first and second light sources are disposed, and at least one sidewall portion connected to the bottom portion to enclose the first light source and the second light source in one common area, in which the first and second light emitting surfaces face substantially the same direction, and the first light emitting surface and the second light emitting surface are disposed at a different elevation from the bottom portion of the housing.

An exterior light unit, has an LED in operation emitting light; a reflector, which reflects a first portion of the light emitted by the LED; a first lens, through which the first portion of the light is refracted after being reflected by the reflector; and a second lens, which is an aspherical collimating lens and which is arranged in such a way with respect to the LED that a second portion of the light emitted by the LED has an unobstructed path to the second lens and is collimated by the second lens in a main light output plane. The second portion of the light, when on its way from the LED to the second lens, crosses way with the first portion of the light, when on its way from the reflector to the first lens.

An aircraft light comprises a housing, at least one light source to be cooled, the at least one light source being arranged in the housing, a heat sink element thermally coupled to the at least one light source and defining a cooling surface exposable to a cooling airstream for the cooling airstream to flow along the cooling surface in a flow direction. The cooling surface extends between upstream and downstream end portions spaced apart in the flow direction and means for generating a pressure difference between the upstream and downstream end portions of the cooling surface. Due to the pressure difference, a cooling airstream flowing along the cooling surface is created.
